A week or so back, there were rumours all over the place regarding this MEGATON announcement (which we are STILL yet to hear about). Well, one of them was a CAPCOM buy out which looked very tasty and likely indeed, what with the recent Resident Evil series.

However, with most rumours, this wasn't one-hundred-percent true, though there's some good in it. You see, Shinji Mikami heads CAPCOM's Production Studio Four, and is acclaimed for his Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series. He's also just announced five exclusives for the GameCube:

Resident Evil 4
Killer 7
Viewtiful Joe
Dead Phoenix
Product Number 03

But you already know that, or you SHOULD, at least (if not, see Whitestripes), so where's this news? Well, the beauty of it all lies in the fact that Shinji Mikami has now announced that CAPCOM's Production Studio Four will only work on GameCube games from now on.

Isn't that great? Five new exclusives (not to mention Project Devil, and the rest of the Resident Evil series) from a division of CAPCOM, now confirmed to work only for Nintendo's great machine.

Oh, and while I'm here, why are people spelling "CAPCOM" in CAPS? Is it an acronym? If you're doing that, then you should really be doing the same with SErvice GAmes.

You are joking about Sega right? If you look at their 2003 released, 50% of them are for the PS2 with the rest evenly spread across the GC, Xbox, GBA and arcade.

Indeed, the only Sega dept. to have singled out the Xbox is Smilebit - Jet Set Radio creators. Meanwhile Amusement Vision (new F Zero, Rez, Space Channel 5) and Sonic Team are in bed with Nintendo.

I think we can get this straight - Capcom favour Nintendo.

Just like Squaresoft favour the PS2 and Sega favour the Xbox.

Sure, one or two Capcom devellopment teams are looking elsewhere, but the odd Squaresoft and Sega devellopment teams are supporting the Gamecube.

I think Nintendo and Capcom have got something special going here.
Capcom designated it's most prestigious franchise to the Gamecube.
Nintendo have let Capcom make all the recent Zelda Gameboy games.

Now while the PS2 and Xbox get one or two little neat games, the Gamecube gets a full 5 original and innoative set, which are a lot more promising than to what they've offered to other people.

And you're basing that on one game are you?

The only, and I repeat, only reason Code Veronica went to the PS2 was because the Dreamcast failed and died early on.

Whatever CAPCOM turn out for other consoles, however good that one game is, it can't top the fact that easily the best of CAPCOM is coming to the Gamecube.

Okay i've changed my mind about this game, I was having a look at some screenshots earlier and reading about it and it does sound like a good idea.

It would truely rock if Capcom manage to pull it off, though the main problem I see is when playing online people will start a game and log off half way through so it kind of beggers up your game. If Capcom can over come this then it should be quite enjoyable.

Another thing is they're gonna need to employ a headset system like on Xbox, otherwise you'll have no way of communicating with each other which would suck.

So...the new Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter is planned for GBA? Somehow I doubt it. Also I don't really know a lot about the Capcom Vs SNK games, but I'm pretty sure there's at least one of them that is supposedly exclusive to Xbox with no plans otherwise - I could easily be wrong though.

And we all know what "exclusive" means to Capcom. Absolutely jack sh..

Breath Of Fire series - GBA. Onimusha 3 - GameCube. Capcom vs. SNK - GameCube. Three of your mentioned titles are out and planned for Nintendo consoles.

There's also the Gun Survivor series, but like Resi Online, it's not made by the quite frankly awsome Production Studio 4, and is quite a poor series.
