A week or so back, there were rumours all over the place regarding this MEGATON announcement (which we are STILL yet to hear about). Well, one of them was a CAPCOM buy out which looked very tasty and likely indeed, what with the recent Resident Evil series.

However, with most rumours, this wasn't one-hundred-percent true, though there's some good in it. You see, Shinji Mikami heads CAPCOM's Production Studio Four, and is acclaimed for his Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series. He's also just announced five exclusives for the GameCube:

Resident Evil 4
Killer 7
Viewtiful Joe
Dead Phoenix
Product Number 03

But you already know that, or you SHOULD, at least (if not, see Whitestripes), so where's this news? Well, the beauty of it all lies in the fact that Shinji Mikami has now announced that CAPCOM's Production Studio Four will only work on GameCube games from now on.

Isn't that great? Five new exclusives (not to mention Project Devil, and the rest of the Resident Evil series) from a division of CAPCOM, now confirmed to work only for Nintendo's great machine.

You say this but lots of rumours have been going round Japan that Nintendo will be buying out Capcom and also releasing a GBA follow up. Apparently there rumouras are looking very likely to be true and it's going to be confirmed sometime between the 20-24 of December.

There's also rumours that whatever Megaton is, it's gonna be released on Monday or Tuesday next week.

Ahhhhh damn these rumours.

Oh and Production Studio Four don't make the Resi games, so it's not them continuing a big franchise.

However if this means they won't be making a sequel to Killer 7 then there will be pins to pay.

I bet Resi online is rubbish

It's meant to be single player, and with these reports that XBox Live is suffering from lag I can't see it being particulary fun on the PS2

Let's appreciate though, that Resident Evil 4 will be an entirely new game, with the camera moving smoothly behind the character and an immersive plot. It's also the only one of the five announced to have been done before.

Yes, and the Devil May Cry series, unless somebody changes something. I'm thinking that they're made by a different division? Production Studio Four is apparently concentrating on innovation and originality, rather than cashing in on big names or franchises (which they think is ruining the industry).
