I really bought my DC for the hell of it and I am wondering if I have made the wrong choice.I mean the PSX2 is good but is it worth the extra hundred pounds.MGS2,Tekken Tag,GT2000 its all too much plus the DVD player.RE:DC,Virtua Tennis,Crazy Taxi and internet.By the way N64 is crap.

This impregnable wall of logic and rhetoric swept across the globe in mere minutes, leaving a devastating wake of panic and despair. Some rioted, some simply sat in the corner and wept, and some looked to the world's gaming authorities to set the record straight.

Personally I think that each console has its merits and also that all games are not released on all consoles. I have PS1/2,DC,N64 and PC and play them all. As far as PS2 is concerned I am quite impressed with it I only have 3 Games TT2,DOA2,RR5 and there all good. The DVD player is crap but I have a stand-alone anyway. It will take developers at least 6/12 Months before the programmers really get to grips with the PS2. Only recently decent DC games have started to come out.

Basically like the previous response if you still enjoy playing it keep it.

yep
Ironically I chose to be biased to get my point across!
My point is not to ditch the PS2 or hate it, it is simply to play other consoles aswell... If you play the PS all the time and have never touched another console, then how do you really know that you wouldnt be happier with that other console???
You dont, so dont diss it.
Be open and try other things

Well said, that man. That's the point most of us have been trying to make, seemingly without success.

In reply to the ORIGINAL question. If you are unhappy with the Dreamcast and it's games then sell it. There is no point having a console that you don't play with lying around. On the other hand, if you enjoy some of the games then keep it. It won't make you a lot of money to sell and by the time you can get your hands on a playstation then you may have saved the money up. How about selling some DC games instead and keeping the best ones? That way you've made some money and have two really good consoles.

To everyone else: Let's face it folks, both the Dreamcast and the Playstation 2 look good. The Dreamcast's games are mostly polished and play well. Sony will make sure there are at least a couple of top quality releases along with their hardware (since this is where they will make their money) If you can afford both then get them, if not then don't complain on this forum, just buy the one that suits you best. It's called PERSONAL PREFERENCE and most adults have mastered it.

Of course it has, it's been around for nearly 2 years, and the PS2 a few months! What a daft argument.

All a matter of personal opinion, not hard fact.

And you're showing no bias towards Dreamcast, are you? Noooo, of course not.

If thats the case with the DC, which has grabbed more installed uder bases than there are PS2 preorders... and they have a LARGe catalogue now, does that mean the life span of the PS2 will run dry when Xbox and gc come??

HAHA, 2 companies?? EA may be the biggest but they CERTAINLY aint the best - far from it... And Sony dont make games, or any good ones so Sega are a better force there when gaming is concerned. Sure, if ure talkn about cash, PS2 rules (hey u thik people r all gonna buy one) but when it comes to games, the DC is undeniably the best and realisation of that will only come if you understand everything as a hardcore gamer and are not biased Sony lovers..

The PS2 also has DVD playback - so when you think of all the pros for this new hardware then even £300 isnt that expensive in the long run. Lets not forget, PS1's were £300 and Saturns were £400 when they were released!!!!!

If you have the money though, keep the Dreamcast. Its still a good console with many good titles still to come

Well that depends on how much money you have.

The Dreamcast has surprised many people, - in all honesty it is a very good games console. But unfortuantly in this industry if you have messed up before the past will come back and haunt you: Sega made to many 16/32 bit mess ups with the Mega CD, 32X and Saturn. Unfortuantly the Dreamcast will only last another two years at the most - it will be dismissed as soon as the gamecube and xbox arrive.

If you havent much money then cash in now - its still worth a bit. The PS2 will be around for a very long time - trust me. It might of had a little bad press but when you have a hugh financial backer behing you like Sony and EA - who have spent everything on games developing for PS2 - then its success bound and will be around for atleast 5 years. EA lets not forget, are the biggest 3rd party developer.

The PS2 also has DVD playback - so when you think of all the pros for this new hardware then even £300 isnt that expensive in the long run. Lets not forget, PS1's were £300 and Saturns were £400 when they were released!!!!!

Right ERRR... youre wrong Grix- MGS on X-Box is a CONVERSION and enhansment of MSG 1- Konami issued a statement at 6 am our time yesterday stating that MGS2 will be PS2 ONLY. Also, theres a multi-tap available to play 4 player games, also you can use the PS1 multitap on it also.
