What you expect sony to put a £600 DVD with a console that is about £200 for 300? next i suppose u will want the DC to make great games

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no way the PS2 will knock anythings socks off!! o it's PSX or PS2

To really consider your choice you first have too look into what you really want. First the problem with the DC at the moment is that alot of developers are now turning away, as can be seen with codemasters, nearly ready to releas CM 2, but can it at the last minute. The DC is actually quite a good machine, it was poorly marketed which has caused the loss in interest in it, but it does still have a medium development base for it. Like the DC if you want a PSX2 youhave to look at what it offers and if that is what you want, firstly the PSX2 comes with a DVD player but there have been various reports as to how good the player actually is, so until a uk one is available to test the standing is the quality is quite poor. But it does have a good development base for it, plus it is reportedly future-proof thus allowing it to be upgraded as more components become available this makes it a much more worthwhile investment. But the problem with the PSX2 is that only 165,000 units are being released in the uk which means you might not be able to get one until the middle of next year. Also with the loss of Munch's Oddessy which has now been delayed by 2 years, to allow development of the x-box version to be completed first, the other problem this caused is that the creator of Munch's Oddessy is seen as the guru of PSX2 and his decision to shelve the game for a couple of years could promote other developers to do the same, you have to wonder whether the PSX2 is going to go the way of the N64. PSX was released caused the demise of the N64 and at the moment the rumors of the X-box capabilities are taking some of the grounf away from the PSX2. So if you want one best advice is to wait and see what it is like when it arrives over here, or wait until the end of next year and compare it to the X-box and see which you would rather have.

Having never played the DC, i have no frame of reference, but i have played the PS2 (Jap version) and must say that i was impressed. At the end of the day, it's personal choice that counts.

Live and let live, that's what i say.

I think that you should really play on a Playstation 2, and see what it is capable of before even considering to sell off your Dreamcast. Having played on a PS2 myself, I must say that I was not really all that impressed. I was expecting to be amazed at it's capabilities, but was more disappointed. The PS2 has been a bit over-hyped, and in my opinion is not too different to the Dreamcast.

I don't know what to say. My personal biased point of veiw says keep the DC for another year and then get a gamecube.

The unbiased part of me says keep the Dreamcast another year (giving the PS2 plenty of time get bring out some classics) and THEN decide which console seems to be the best buy.

I'll get a Gamecube either way but it doesn't mean that YOU have to.
