Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

You right i heard carts cost over 5 times more to make than Cd or DVDs hopefully games will be cheaper on the dolphin. The problem with CDs are that they scratch and can become unplayable. Whwere as carts are very durable. (I have seen one accidentally fall about6 feet of a shelf and survive.) You can also carry them around with out their boxes with no fear of damaging them.

You may of heard of the price drop about a year ago but what have we seen; controllers cheaper and players choice games.... yes that all. Why would you want a players choice game they are pants apart from Goldeneye, but everyone's got that. Snowboard Kids is not very good, sowhat are we getting. The answer is no good games cheap, which is what gamers want. Why can't Nintendo follow PSX and have games priced at £29.99 and not £39.99 or even £49.99.

The reason for this is Carts because they cost alot more than CD and it looks like Nintendo Could get cheaper with the the Dolphin but DVD's cost more than CD's so could we see it happen all over again, Expensive games you will just have to wait.

Well, the Australian/New Zealand PAL version. This game is sheer class! Forget Goldeneye! This is THE first-person shooter on any system (and that includes PC).

The single player is challenging, the multi-player mode is fantastic!

This game should carry a warning, warning unsuspecting games-players it will destroy they're social life hehe..:)

It sounded too good to be true when the title didn't mention the Dreamcast, I thought you had turned over a new leaf, but then I read through and there was no sign of a N64 or Dolphin, but Dreamcast, so get your titles right.

I can't think of any console company that would be more grateful for this increase in sales, they are so good at what they do, but over the last 6 years have been stepped on by Sony, no one really knows the main reason for Sony's success, because it started from day one and that was totally unexpected, anyway whatever Nintendo bring out it is always run over by Sony's goons, I mean Nintendo have all their fingers in the right places, all doing the right thing, but it will never be enough, I am very happy with my N64, I can't wait for the new games to come out and I definatley don't think that it's too late, Rainbow 6 was my last game and I got that at christmas so yes I am a bit disapointed about that but now we have Perfect dark, Zelda2, Conkers BFD, Dinosaur Planet all coming in a short period the last two games I mentioned are being produced on 500+mb carts!! I can't wait for this it will beat all Dreamcast games and hopefully leave a good audience for the Dolphins welcomed entrance. I just don't believe that we never saw the 64DD, does anyone realise what we missed out on? we could have made multiplayer levels for Goldeneye and played over the internet on Zelda!!!! when Nintendo get their new DVd's I think they should make some low costing DVD players (just for TV) and maybe some stereos then they will get more money for their big joy....Consoles.
I will be their with Nintendo all the way, and even though some Sony owner said that their PS2 will have better specs than the Dolphin when it comes out, which I really doubt, I will buy a dolphin because I know there will be great new inventiuons and great games, hopefully more than on the N64

Come on you S**theads outther yep, U ant and Yes you too Arty - if you're even in that class. You all Think that Sony will deliver the finest piece of consoling hardware and software around don't you? WELL LET'S have a little look at the PS2 FACTS. It WILL cost £299 - None of you'll pAY that sort of cash. 2 the PS2 is HARDER to program for than the SATURN - remember how good that COULD have been - Sega made some top notch titles for it but found it HELL to program for, and so all other DEvDudes and Publishers p!ssed off to Sony. Now Sony's Machine is just TOO DAMN hard to make games for. At E3 everyone was absolutely astonished at how impressive MGS2 looked and Rightly so, but they were disheartened by how good it looked as it took Sony months on end to make it LOOK good, it won't even be out next year! And so all the little publishers EASPORTS in particular cried with emotion (HA?! the EMOTION ENGINE! what a load of S**t!!!!) as they can't match it. so, soon EA sports will be no MORE and all the Developers will rush back to Sega's beauty as the DC is just so easy to program for.
Also the PS2's DVD function. mmmmmmm it looks \Crap lads, the DVd player is flawed no end and when you use it it drains the PS2s memory and so Sony have had to make a hard drive to cope. 4 The games. The games are also SH!T with sequels being the only games out, Another Originality problem.
5. The PS2 is a piece of SH!T that'll be wrapped up in pretty colours to attract the stupid people who like pretty colours. FACE the facts. THE PS2 STINKS, and at double the price of Dreamcast, it seems sony and Sega are about to switch success. MMMMmmmm PS2 nout but a SATURN REMIX!!!!!!!!

I think that you are being slightly unfair. I think Nintendo deserve this rise in sales figures. More people are starting to see that the N64 has now accumulated plenty of good games over the last few years and that prices are going down. Economics dictates that when prices decrease demand increases. With games like F-zero x for under a tenner and Goldeneye edging closer to the twenty pound mark a long with other great games such as Mario Kart, it is hardly surprising that sales are increasing. The main reason why PSX and other consoles had high original sales figure was because on average their games start about 15 pounds cheaper than N64 games and the console is cheaper. When faced with the options many people chose psx because they thought it would be cheaper in the long term and so N64s had lower sales figures. But now with these cheaper games (and abundance of second hand ones) have lead to people choosing the N64 because it is now relatively cheap with plenty of games of arguably longer life span and better quality. I feel that this and the promise of Perfect Dark which has the potential to be the best console game ever earned Nintendo a well deserved boost in sales figures.

I would say that Goldeneye for Shoot em up, ISS 98 for Sport, Wrestlemania 2K for fighting and Zelda for platform.
