Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

I've often found, being both a N64 and Playstation owner, that Playstation games often lack a special "quality" that Nintendo games often posses!

With maybe the exception of Final Fantasy 7 & 8 (which both evolved from a Nintendo system) I cant think of one Playstatio game I'd rather play over a Nintendo one?

Playstation owners (with some exceptions, such as myself!) often claim their system is better than the N64 because of their fancy FMV sequences or CD quality sound, but I'd rather listen to the tunes of a Mario game any day "do do doo, do do doo, do do doo do do do!" or see the graphic masterpiece of Link change from boy to man in the Ocarina of Time!!!

Thats the problem with the run-of-the-mill playstation generation, they hide behind gaming fads like "better graphics" of "Superior Sound" or even "My Console Sports a PS logo, and is built by the inventors of the WAlkman!!!" PATHETIC!!! I'd rather play a game by the innovators of Playability; Nintendo!!!!

What is going on with Olympic Hockey?

It arrives in Special Reserve under £10 with no attempt to explain it's presence or offer a review, even if it's ice hockey or 'the other kind' ie) broken shins in school PE.

I've looked around, and no sites I've found (including official nintendo ones) have any mention of it, and yet it's in my cheapskate price range as a potential purchase. If anyone knows anything, I'd love to know if it's worth thinking about, or if we are talking about the likes of draging a little orange ball through heavy mud with an ill designed stick while people hack at your legs, a use much better suited to the clumsy hard bits of wood.

I have a question,

How do you GET your 'real' cash?

I looked around there, and didn't find anything to help suggest an answer. Also, when I registered it didn't ask for my full address, so no check through the post then. I want my £1.30!

I brought Hydro thunder for the N64 for £25 and it is such a great game for this price. It is very enjoyable and it is so much fun trying to pull off the shortcuts in the game. It has 13 cars, [4 hidden] and 13 boats [4 hidden] and your aim is to win the races and unlock the bonus tracks. It is very hard to win the Hard tracks but if you use your boost’s at the right time and if you find all the shortcuts you will unlock the bonus tracks and boats. It is great fun when you play against human players but the frame rate slows down a lot and it is much better just playing against one. If anyone wants to buy a computer game for the PSX or N64 I would strongly recommend this. It is just like Mario Kart but you are on water and the tracks are much better. For under £30 this game is a total bargain. It takes a bit of getting use to in the first days but eventually you will unlock the bonus tracks and then the boats including a military boat that can shoot people, and a Mini Titanic.

I got bored of it real fast. For all the features it just didn't have that fun element that made you want to go back and play time and time again.

It does need the Expansion pak because of the new features. In an interview with Mr. Miyam..... he said it does because you will be able to fight up to 15! enemies at once.

I bought a N64 a few weeks ago. My son kept on begging to have that Pokemon Stadium game.

Now we have it and I am ashamed. During 15 years I thought a PC was better in every way. Also having viewed the Playstation with a friend confirmed this idea. Now I know better. Incredible this 3D gaming.

As new players, we are now 15 hours on Donkey Kong 64 and have 15(!) out of 200 bananas :)) What a game. What a game system. It so much more fun to game with 2 or 3 persons in front of our TV. I have this 500 MHz PIII with Voodoo 3000 and never had the same happy feeling of finding the clues with all of the family.

This is the difference between a beautiful game design and MHz/pixel bragging. In fact, I calculated, if we would like to play every great title on the N64 that got a rating of at least 9/10, we will be missing out the next 5 years of gaming and even Gamecube.

Imagine Zelda I, Mario Golf and Tennis, Golden eye, Turok series, Perfect Dark, Banjo I , Battle Tanx, Ridge Racer64 are still unknown to me. And I read that Zelda, Banjo, Eternal darkness, a new Bond and half a dozen others are still to appear.

After playing a few levels of DK64, I feel we will never ever sell our N64. And my yearly PC update will be finished, that's for sure. A game system is so much more stable and compact.

I now know this N64 must have been a breakthrough in videogaming back in 96 and that even next generation consoles will only have better pixels but will not be as revolutionary.

Thanks Nintendo (allthough it was the Pokemon craze that made me buy the N64) :))
