Plenty of controversy around the venue this year in Baku and moving people out the way to build it.
Also, we have Jedwood to look forward to as the Irish entry. You know what? The songs not bad in an infectious throwaway pop sort of way. Far better than England's Humperdink song which just sends me off to sleep.
Semi finals are May 22nd & 24th
Final is May 26th
I was worried when Graham Norton took the place of Wogan, but he really did well last year and feels much more confident in the role now.
Interesting evening with the second set of semi's, with some expectations met and a few surprises.
Sweden threw everyone off by entering a real singer with what appeared to be almost a real song (albeit a really bad dance number).
Slovakia entered something akin to real Metal, sung by a Bon Jovi- esque parody band. Surprised it didn't get through, it was probably the most "normal" of the evening.
And what's with Turkey?! Really?
Still, should make for an interesting final. I'm thinking Italy or France might win. We don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning from what I can see, but then who knows? Stranger things have happened....
Not so much because I liked the song, more because it seems that they have just discovered Showaddywaddy and T-Rex... Kind of thought it was the most entertaining of the evening.
Well, Jedward got through to the finals tonight. The song is pretty catchy.
So is
I haven't heard it, but I didn't like their entry last year. I thought Blue's "I Can" was kinda catchy too >.<
Rules are that any singer from any country can enter for your country as long as the song has been written by someone unsigned and from your country (I think)
A) popular or
B) that no one else in their right mind would do it.
