If this turns out to be true and this is Nintendo's so called 'Megaton' announcment then they know where they can stick it

Taken from cube-europe.com

Yes, it's Megaton rumour time again, though this seems far more plausable than the last few.

Cube Nation have reported, apparently from a reputable source, that the Megaton announcement will go something like this...

Nintendo are not buying Capcom
Nintendo are not buying Sega
Somewhere in the region of 3-5 new Capcom GameCube games will be revealed, in addition to the last 5
Nintendo will announce a new Pokemon GameCube game, scheduled for a March 2003 release date in Japan. It's "revolutionary concept" will, supposedly, boost the sales of the GameCube to astronomical levels
Nintendo will announce the "GBA's future", which is speculated to be the previously reported GBA2/GBA upgrade rumour

Anyone else read Schnpickles (or however you spell it) article a few weeks ago on C-E? If you haven't, go read it. To me, it looks like he was spot on, especially now this Pokémon game has been annoucned.

Or maybe they meant we'll build your excitement level up and then give you a megaton kick in the nuts when you find out it's just another Pokemon game.

Once you all realise there is no megaton announcement whatsoever, and that it was all made up by someone on one of the many GameCube news site forums, you will learn a whole new level of disappointment.

Nintendo never uttered a sound about any Megaton announcement - why the big excitement?

After all this talk about it for the past week-or-so, I now really can't be bothered with knowing or even guessing-at what this 'big announcement' may be.

I'll just be happy if we know of a few more Nintendo games that'll be in development for 2003/04, more details on some of the forth-coming games like Zelda and co., along with some real PAL release dates, and what exactly is going on with this whole GameBoy Advance 2 deal.
And that's all!!

As-great-as buying Capcom, or SEGA (or BOTH) would be, I just can't really be bothered. We've already got 5 new Capcom games on the way to the GameCube exclusively, along with the possibillity of several more. And SEGA are already giving us Super Monkey Ball 2 next year, along with a fair-few of other decent titles... And then there's Retro Studios who'll be looking for something new to work-on after Metroid Prime - hopefully they'll revive the `Raven Blade` project...

Have fun! I'll be off playing some great games instead of waiting to hear what this `Megaton` thing could be all about...

You never know, it could all end-up to be nothing as Nintendo decide to release `Megaton Hammers` on the world, or something daft like that...!??

yep, although it's unlikely, a nintendo/capcom join isn't definately not happening.
and miyamoto said of "a coouple of big announcements" so i shouldn't be surprised if there is more than one megaton.

TWO MEGATONS!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
