I'm not sure if this has been done before in here (probably) but I just wanna know which 3 albums you'd nominate as your top 3 for the year 2001 (in order)??
Remember, each album must have been released in 2001, not before. We'll probably see a new topic soon asking for the bottom 3 of 2001! Anyway, here's my 3:

1. System Of A Down - Toxicity

2. Staind - Break the Cycle

3. Disturbed - Down with the Sickness

How about you???
And incase you're wondering, they don't have to be under one particuar catergory, they can even be mixed.

I haven't yet got 'Clarity' but wanna get it sometime. If I can find a couple of copies on Ebay I'll get em, keep one, and trade the other at HMV... cos 'Clarity' is usually £21 at HMV (blummin rip offs!) so I'll get £21 worth of CDs from there for however much the CD will cost me on the net!

Anyway, I want to get that split EP with Alkaline Trio covering Hot Water Music songs, and vice versa. Should be interesting. They're doing this with other bands too, most notabley with Rancid and NOFX.

I also must get the AFI album, and then when it comes out, their new album that should be out this year.

Echoes - Pink Floyd

While this album is completion of old material with only one new song, It was still by far the best album released last year.

"Clarity" defines JEW at their best if you ask me. It's my personal favourite JEW album anyway.

Far, New End Original, One Line Drawing, Rival Schools, Get Up Kids, Sunny Day Real Estate etc. All Emo bands that need to be heard :)

Emo rules. I wish more people here liked it. Unfortunately, they will in about 4 months, when the emo fad with Weezer and JEW leading the way comes over here a la nu-metal.

Then another couple of months and we'll be left in peace to listen to it.

Clarit won't be worth loads because it's just been re-released to cash-in on the JEW bandwagon, and quite rightly so because it's an emo masterpiece that everyone should own.

Anyway, my top 3 I albums I bought in 2001 (not all released in 2001 though):

New End Original - Thriller (distilled emo lovliness)

Dashboard Confessional - The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most (acoustically wonderful love-lorn emo songs)

Sunny Day Real Estate - LP2 (great experimental emo)

No I havent got it. I've heard it a few times and its very good. I've been meaning to get the album for some time now but I havent got round to it. Thanks for reminding me, I might get it tomorrow. I can't believe how long they've been around for and still producing the goods!

Speaking of which, have you got the Jimmy Eat world 'Clarity' album? (Their second album). I had been looking for this album for about a year until I finally got hold of a copy last weekend from HMV. It was a HMV import.

I couldn't believe it, I wasn't even looking for that album at the time (I was looking for the New Found Glory album)

The reason why 'Clarity' isn't about is because when it was first realased it didn't get recognized, so it sold hardly any copies. The album was then taken off the shelves and sent back.

I bet this album will be worth a bit in a few years as well.

Its a great album, not as good as 'Bleed American' but still very good.

Probably be worth a bit some time later, but you can still get the 'Bleed American' version on import from America on Amazon.com, so for now...

Anyway, I got the album and it is damn good.

Also, 20th Century Boy have you got the new Bad Religion album 'The Process of Belief'? It is incredible!
