I have this problem with a friend at school,a few people already know about my friend wanting me to get drunk and smoke with her.I've been told that I'm too nice and need to make a stand for myself once in a while.I did that today.

I was in english with my friend and she asked me if I had got the alchol yet.I said to her that I didn't want to do it and she started to be horrible to me,swearing at me and calling me names.I didn't like it so I told her that I would do it.

I told my sister about the problem child last night and she told me that I shouldn't do it.I told my mum about it a couple of hours ago,she told me that I was sensible enough to not want to do it but I should tell my problem. Then I said to her that the problem wanted to do this stunt at my house because it's isolated and nobody from my school would see us.Mum said that problem was stupid.

Problem then texted me asking me 'Hve u askd yt abt the bze?Hve u askd if i cn go rnd 2 ur hse yt?'
Translation:'Have you asked yet about the booze?Have you asked if I can go round to your house yet?'
To which I replied:'No,I don't want to do it.Your just stupid and I'm sensible enough to pull out.Ask when your older.I still won't do it,not with you.'
Then she replied:'Wot,u ****ing swot.'
That was it,I had to make my mum text back to her.

Truth was, when that girl said that to me,it really upset me.She teased me because I had common sense.I know that I'm in trouble with other girls now for using my brain and deciding not to gamble with my life by smoking and getting drunk.Problem is always horrible to me and I want to ditch her but I can't because knowing her-she'll hit me like she does with the others.
This whole thing is getting me down now I've made her mad, she'll tell the other 'cool' girls and I'll be really unpopular then.
What do I do?

You can't call someone like this a friend. Although, I can't personally see anything wrong with drinking, others might and people such as yourself shouldn't be pressurised into doing something that you don't wish to do. You are your own person. Young people aren't able to see past things such as reputations and their own beliefs because they are nieve. Do what you wish to do, as that is obviously the right choice.

If you're her big bro, why don't you sort out the problem? Huh? Or are
> you scared?

I know what it's like when I've stuck up for my younger brother in school. It's not as easy as just giving a warning. If you hit the bully, you're as bad as them.

I did scare one kid and he burst into tears just by shouting at him for a good ten minutes about how stupid, selfish, idiotic, etc, etc, he was though. If people make me angry enough, they have to put up with the consequences.

I don't use physical violence unless I really have to, infact I've only hit one person in school once cos they threw a rugby ball at me and it hit my eye (didn't even get a bruise but I did a John-Prescott-like automatic reaction) so I hit the idiot.

I'm willing to but she doesn't want me interfearing... she knows her friend don't have a chance!

If your 'friends' are like that, I'd hang out with a different crowd, plain and simple, ma' Herman.
