With most of the old lengendary consoles getting rare to find in stores such as SNES, Mega Drive, ect, the only way to play the games for them is to get the ROM. The regulations of using ROMS is that you must delete the file after 24 hours if you do not own the origanal game, but whats the point? Nobody's going to arrest you or even find out, so why is it still a crime?? Lets here your views...

Of course they arn't gonna search the people who download them, they can always lie that they believed the 24 hour rule...

They are however chasing down the people who distribute ROMS on sites illegally, they are the people that tehy threaten with law suits..

Ask Tonty, he knows.

To be honest, I downloaded some the other day. Who really cares though? No one is going to come all the way to your house, do a search for cartridges, and then nick you if he/she doesn't find any.

I dont think so... that wouldnt make an enourmous amount of sense?

I know computer software, like books held under copyright law (since softare, like literature is written) rather than patent law.

And that the owner of software is allowed to make as many 'backups' as they like.

There are complications with licences, contract law, etc.. its Saturday, and its been a few years since I studied law & computers...

It's all over the web..

I've known for ages about how the ROMs are illegal!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
