The quality factor which is inspired and produced by Nintendo's own is nonetheless a contributing factor to the machines success.
With the third party support that sees effectively near enough every X-BOX-PS2 release on the system will highten sales further.
Plus, considering the rather small difference between the technology of the X-BOX and GC goes in favour of the Big N due to its groundbreaker development of games which is veering towards release..- AAA Too!.
Naturally the system deserved more on release.
The Gamecube missed a Quality Mario title that we have been so used to with the Major console releases from Nintendo.
Even though the system will have in region of 22+ titles on release here in Europe, i would give anything-all those titles atleast- just to have a Mario Platformer as my first Gamecube play, I mean...who wouldn't?
But do you know what would be the killer for the X-BOX?
The Price for one!
I consider myself a hardcore gamer, I have had Every console that was worth of getting in existence now.
I might have waited a year for the dropping of price for the PS2, but heck it was worth it, considering no decent enough title appeareed until the release of GT3.
And with the same sort of reasoning, I will be doing the same with the X-BOX. Halo- I know- is worth getting, but shelling out £300 plus £40 for the game let alone £30 for a memory card is a bit too much don't you think? Atleast with the Gamecube you have quite a bit of money compared to the X-BOX to buy yourself an extra game (or two) or maybe a memory card on top. And atleast with the PS2 you where guaranteed DVD playback out of the box!!!
Plus you end up thinking of the long term too, what titles will be the make or break for the systems.
We all know Mario will probably crunch the sales of all games in existence on any format for the Gamecube, but what have we to look forward to for the X-BOX? Halo 2? Crazy Taxi 3? That's the problem.
I 'will' have an X-BOX eventually (Until the price lowers to PS2 range), heck it is a brilliant syestem with unbelievable potential to boot. But being realistic, I think Nintendo is onto a winner with it's extremely powerful Gamecube, which is in an attractive price range.
Even thinking of Mario, Metroid, Perfect Dark and the 'reverting to the Realistic Style' Zelda has my mouth watering in anticipation.
Roll on May 3rd then...the time when Europe will waken up to true gaming. You'll see!
