Despite what skeptics would think, Nintendo is on to a pure winner with the Gamecube.
The quality factor which is inspired and produced by Nintendo's own is nonetheless a contributing factor to the machines success.
With the third party support that sees effectively near enough every X-BOX-PS2 release on the system will highten sales further.
Plus, considering the rather small difference between the technology of the X-BOX and GC goes in favour of the Big N due to its groundbreaker development of games which is veering towards release..- AAA Too!.

Naturally the system deserved more on release.
The Gamecube missed a Quality Mario title that we have been so used to with the Major console releases from Nintendo.
Even though the system will have in region of 22+ titles on release here in Europe, i would give anything-all those titles atleast- just to have a Mario Platformer as my first Gamecube play, I mean...who wouldn't?

But do you know what would be the killer for the X-BOX?
The Price for one!
I consider myself a hardcore gamer, I have had Every console that was worth of getting in existence now.
I might have waited a year for the dropping of price for the PS2, but heck it was worth it, considering no decent enough title appeareed until the release of GT3.

And with the same sort of reasoning, I will be doing the same with the X-BOX. Halo- I know- is worth getting, but shelling out £300 plus £40 for the game let alone £30 for a memory card is a bit too much don't you think? Atleast with the Gamecube you have quite a bit of money compared to the X-BOX to buy yourself an extra game (or two) or maybe a memory card on top. And atleast with the PS2 you where guaranteed DVD playback out of the box!!!
Plus you end up thinking of the long term too, what titles will be the make or break for the systems.
We all know Mario will probably crunch the sales of all games in existence on any format for the Gamecube, but what have we to look forward to for the X-BOX? Halo 2? Crazy Taxi 3? That's the problem.

I 'will' have an X-BOX eventually (Until the price lowers to PS2 range), heck it is a brilliant syestem with unbelievable potential to boot. But being realistic, I think Nintendo is onto a winner with it's extremely powerful Gamecube, which is in an attractive price range.
Even thinking of Mario, Metroid, Perfect Dark and the 'reverting to the Realistic Style' Zelda has my mouth watering in anticipation.
Roll on May 3rd then...the time when Europe will waken up to true gaming. You'll see!

Yes but Nintendo has their classic games AND games from PS2 and X-Box

Best of both worlds

OK so they don't have EVERY game, but who cares?

Yes, but Nintendo games will never appeal to casual gamers because Nintendo doesn't appeal to casual gamers. Furthermore, these Resi games are actually harming Nintendo because they are detracting from its original family image; parent's might not want it because of those nasty zombie games and casuals might probably won't want it because of those awful kiddy games.

Actually i disagree (i'm bound to).

Casual Gamers such as my friend (old friend) David gave into the Pokemon hype, he played Pokemon and thought it was brilliant, but as a guy who doesnt want to lose any respect he didn't tell anyone. This guy is a casual gamer he played the Nintendo games, games he would never normally do as it doesnt appeal to him but he gave them a go and loved them. You are right they don't appeal to him but once they play them casual gamers love them.

nintendo need to somehow make these games appeal to casual gamers because these casual gamers if only they could suck up their pride and give it a go, will love them.

errrr... do you know why the PS2 and Xbox will have better sales? Simply because the games on those consoles are more attractive to casual gamers. Believe it or not, casual gamers prefer Fifa like sequal and ever more realistic racers over original titles like Pikmin.

The target for the consoles is just completely different. The GC will attract kids, family gamers, and hardcore gamers, and the Xbox and PS2 will be more teenage/young adult machines.

None of the consoles have better games than the others... they all have some outstanding games, it just that they appeal to different gamers.

Yeah I realised that after going back and investigating a little further.
That particular French site is great though, they had European box GC images before anybody else(Games and Accessories).
