We are currently considering merging Intelligent Discussion with Creative Writing & Design under the heading "Creative Writing & Debate".

Your opinions please.

Yeah, it's the titles and descriptions which confuse everyone. Photography only really falls into Design if you edit them or use them for a larger project. For those who just take pictures for a hobby and just want their photos to look good rather than mean something, Design doesn't really fill the space that their looking for.

I am totally against the merging of Intelligent Discussion and Creative Writing, simply because most of the people in General are intelligent so it should be merged there instead.

Intelligent originally split from General, this divided the SR forums into two distinct camps (not including the oily wrestlers). That was a bad thing.

It you want to give the creative writers a little boost at the same time just rename it the 'Literati' forum.

This would leave you with:

General Discussion
Literati/Creative Writers

Perfect.

Although perhaps the reason we don't have anything but writing in said forum is because of the description confusing people: 'Go solo or start a community storyline.' I dunno.

Well for the photography we currently have the 'Creative Writing and Design' forum and I don't think anyone has put anything in there yet except writing. Maybe if there were more topics in there relating to photography there would be a greater call, but not at the moment in my opinion.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see much evidence of Design in the Creative Writing and Design forum.

"Creative Writing & Intelligent Discussion" might be too long (I'm not sure).

I pretty much agree with Garin.

And what "Internet design and technology" forum? "Web design and Internet" seems pretty centred around Freeola's area of expertise and really shouldn't have extra discussion going on in there, because it's where customers will expect to see answers to their questions and won't want to sift through lists of discussion to find where their topic has sunk to in favour of gossip.

A Gadgets and/or Photography board would be better for what Machie said, and I agree that we need one. Gadgets would be better than photography in my opinion though, because that covers a much wider field of discussion, including photography, in a way.
