Most of the games were really childish, I can only count 2 games that were 18 and a few other 15. Perfect Dark and Conkers Bad Fur Day were the only games intended for an older audience. A few Turok games were 15 and some other games were. But most of the games were really childish and easy. Mario 64 was mega simple. Zelda, although it has some hard bits, wasn't really as challenging as I thought and my little sister even managed to complete it. Looking at the Gamecube, most of the games that are going to come out are going to be very childish and although they probably will be quite good, I need more harder games.
Also, the Playstation has got a larger market of games because more people own the console, Playstation has been out for over a year now and it has had no competition. The Gamecube or Xbox will never be able to gain back the sales becuase the Playstation 2 will be cheaper and it will have tonnes more games to play.
I was intendingon getting a Gamecube but now I have decided that I will get a PS2 because it will be cheaper, it will have loads more games on it and it won't be as childsh.
I might sound like I hate the Gamecube but I don't, it is going to do well but I just feel that PS2 has got the head start and that the Gamecube is going to be quite childish.
And before any of you decide to do a big fat list of hard games, have a look at the amount of games that were ever realeased (not many compared to the psx) and look at how many childish games there are.
Argh, my eyes. Fair enough, everyone has their own opinion, but you don't have to talk about it ; D
Just kidding phil, i would write about where and why i disagree, but everyone already has said it all, and i can't really be bothered anyway : )
I don't think there are that many challenging games about at the moment, but GC looks like it could have some of the best contendors...
And i just remembered that the only really

Yes, well the GC has much more third party support now. SO we will see alot of what comes out on the PS2/X-box and we we always have our own exclusive stuff from Rare and Nintendo themselves.
As That geezer said on the Gamecube Launch webcast thingy, Nintendo aint Marketing the Gamecube towards any age group in general. The Gamecube is for anyone that enjoys games.

And when Nintendo reduce their GC price in around 6-12 months time?
PS2 has dropped in price twice, I can't see it getting much lower now....

Ironically, most PS2 games (yes, especially those "adult" games) are even easier.
If you want a PS2 instead then fine, but don't let it be because of the dumb old "Nintendo is too kiddie for me" excuse.
Zelda and Mario are more challenging than the likes of Metal Gear Solid and last a lot longer the Resident Evil games.
And don't say that Mario and Zelda are kiddie because of their "unrealistic" graphics because that would be pathetic.
Anyway, there's plenty on the Gamecube horizon like Resident Evil and turok is you're scared of cartoony graphics.
In the mean time, if you want a PS2 then it's because you want MGS2 and GTA3, NOT because you think you're too old for Nintendo. Got it?
Basically, PS2 will have more games than gamecube because it has been out for longer, meaning that on the release of gamecube, PS2 will have so much more choice to chose from and you will have to wait for the list of gamecube games to get bigger and come close to the list of PS2 games. More people will own PS2 than gamecubes for a long time because it will take time for gamecube sales to get anywhere near the amount of PS2 sales.
SonicRav is the only one who has seen what i said. Nintendo have got the younger gaming audience while Ps2 is aimed at everyone.
And i just remembered that the only really good developer for the N64 was Rare, with them developing to other consoles, a lot of the good games on GC will be on PS2 and Xbox as well.
By the way Gasmask, are you stupid? "The weaker console has to lower its price to compete." Sony had the whole market to itself, it could charge high prices, but now there is another product it can drop prices and become more competitive. It doesnt mean you are weaker, it means that you could charge the price at first because you had the market to yourself but now you need to act competitivly. Didn't the N64 have to lower its prices to keep up with the PSX!?!
But there are still 3 months to go until the release or GC and the PS2 is still selling well with the whole market to itself. I personally can't see the Gamecube catching up in terms of the sales and amounts of games.
:)

Yeah, but surley Sony won't drop the PS2 to £150. That just shows that the weaker console has to lower its price to compete.
Buy a GC, now.
