"Why PS2 wipes the floor with X-Box"

I was browsing the net when i found a link to some screenshots of X-box's project Gotham. I wanted to see them as i heared this game had the best graphics on x-box so far but when i saw them i laughd tottally. I was really dissapointed with this game. It looks like bloody PORSCHE CHALLENGE FOR GODDSAKES......well...a bit better but its not exactly GT3. So if anyone says X-Box is a better console cz the games can run faster with better graphics then just look at these screens......oh and before he abuse......this isn't as such a jibe at x-box but just a those folks who reckons the graphics are miles better....wke up folks.

Though I can't see Halo having a better multiplayer than Perfect Dark.......IN MY OPINION!!!! :-D

Natbuc- most casual gamers will not base the quality of games on the screen shots, but on the millions of dollars MS has spent on promoting the console- expect the UK ads to start in the next few weeks.

Errr... you obviously know almost nothing about console architecture- EVERY console except for the PS2 is based Pc architecture. The Dreamcast even used Windows, and I think most people will agree- that's one of the best consoles of all time!

How short is your memory? When the PS2 was launched it had the latest technology... and cost £300. Now the Xbox is being released with THE EQUIVALENT processing power, but also with an INCLUDED modem and HARDDRIVE. And the price... EXACTLY the same as the PS2 launch price!

1) How does the console size affect the quality of the game? The fact is the Xbox has some absolutely superb game- Halo is meant to be the best FPS game ever.

2) The PS2 is actually not too far off the size of the Xbox- Sony have just made it out of 2 cuboids to make it look smaller than it actually is.

Well, the PS2 launched at exactly the same price, and had no modem or HDD as standard. You have obviously never held the Xbox controller. You are obviously completely ignorant of the fact that another game system actually has games as good as, and better, than your beloved PS2.

Oh, and before you called my a biased Gates Boy... I actually own a PS2, will be getting an imported Gamecube, but have no interest in buying an xbox at this time. But I'm unbiased enough to see that the console rocks.

I've seen a video clip of Project Gothem and it looks amazing. But lets not judge the X-Box just yet. I have GT3 and on March 14th will have Project Gothem. So wait 6 weeks and i'll be able to honestly tell you which is better in terms of graphics ability.

I think thats fair enough. Each of us has our favoured game. I agree about the IMO thing, but you miss it out and some idiot like me will come along and pick it up. :-)

Last small part of an argument though... I`d be happy to see Project Gotham on PS2, but from what I`ve heard its more like Burnout than GT3 in its style of gameplay, and I am not a fan of Burnout.

Have any of you actually seen a movie clip or played it ?
I played the game at a press launch in November and the graphics are as good, if not better than GT3. Not sure about the longtivity though, can't see it outlasting GT3.

I'd like to point out right now that I'm not biased on the matter. I have a PS2 and a Dreamcast and I am not planning on buying an X-Box yet I can still say that it is likely to be a good console. You're obviously the biased ones as you're bashing the console because of 2 screen shots!


And SSXPro, I see what you mean but first of all, I have seen other shots of this game and it does look really good. Forgive me if I don't downlaod pictures or keep URLs. And yes, it is just my opinion. I think MSR is better than GT3 and since Project Gotham looks to be just an improved MSR, it should also be better than GT3. I think MSR is the best racing game ever therefore I think PRoject Gotham will be the new best racer around. I'm as entitled to my opinion, as you are. And don't say that I wrote it like a fact because it gets very tedious participating in a conversation (or argument whatever way you look at it) and having to write 'in my opinion' at the beginning of each sentence.

If Project Gotham wasn't an X-Box exclusive and was being released on PS2 as well, would we really have had a topic saying how bad it looks?

I fully understand that i can't judge a console by a game but what i trying to say is that there are all these people saying that x-box is better than PS2 coz of graphics capability. So what i'm saying is......u can't really judge anything by screenshots. BUT there are alot of peopel who are judging by screenshots.....and these are mainly the people that say x-box is beter than PS2 becuase the graphics look better. So i'm just playing along with them and saying "Oh...well look at these screens.....If your gonna judge on screens then GT3 is better than Project Gotham."

I know full well u can't judge on screens and i posted these screens (which clearly make project gotham look alot worse than GT3) simply to play these people at there own game.....hope that makes sense.....

Sorry guys but you can't write off a console just by a screenshot of one game - I thought you would realise thatby rez. You are also acting like graphics are better than gameplay (again Rez, Tetris etc). You all know that Halo and Wreckless are amzing, but so are MGS2 and FFX. Let's just all live in peace and gaming tranquility.

True, but you can get some first impressions about it. Books and covers aside, its still helpful.

How do you know this? You have no doubt and yet you haven`t given a single shred of proof. At least Natbuc showed you a couple of screenshots.

I have Rolo to the Rescue on Megadrive, and Goldeneye on N64, and Rolo is much better. Its opinion, its easy to say when you are biased. If you want, I can give you a load more demos.

As a > b , and b > c, then a > c. A true statement, but I question the validity of b > c. In my opinion that would be c > b, which doesn`t imply that a > c.
