For any newbies (bless em!) and anyone else here who is not sure about what goes on in this chat forum, what would you longer serving guys and gals want to see change in the forum?

Two points of my own are below:

.No net speak.
Newbies, please note that writing English will get you noticed more and will probably improve your own English skills if you are still at school.

.Relevance.
The chat forum is for chat, yes, but perhaps we should stick to chat about games or about members/items from ukgames. Asking what people's favorite films or music are is not really suitable when there is an apt enough forum for that already.

So, what changes would YOU like to see?

A counter. To see how many people read my posts.

Relevant replies. Just writing 'Good post' should not be allowed. Add a thought of your own, even if in agreement with the original.

so that would make you about number 765?

anyway on topic I would like to see, a controller a day competition, think about it, how do they choose a winner for gameaday? they choose the most original post, but surely there must be more than one a day? so they could give away a controller to the 2nd most original post of the day as a sort of consolation prize! what do you think?

Please please per-lease can we not have smileys in the chat forums? Words can express how people feel better than little yellow or purple faces (and my face is purple enough.).

Oh yeah for all you who want a spell checker - GAD is also judged on grammar and spelling so if you cant be bothered to check your stuff before submitting it more fool you.

I wanna see less of this 'he was nasty to me so i will be nasty back blah blah blah' etc. Hand bags at 10 paces ladies.

You come on, read posts, have a laugh and post a witty/relevant response. Its very simple so if you can't manage it, don't bother logging on.

I find it amazing that all the ideas you list Shaneo(i will

I've never been on the Edge Forums in my life. Even if I had, does it really matter?

Instead of a spellchecker, if I don't know how to spell a word I just copy it into Word, and if there's no squiggly line then I know the word must be right!

Darkness has just told me that that's not neccessarily true. Damn him. ;)

On topic, I think a leaderboard of how long everyone has been here would be a good idea. I'd also like to see a menu above the typing window which was the following features:

Bold
Italic
Underline
Insert Hyperlink
Insert E-Mail Hyperlink
Insert List
Insert Smilie

I would especially like the former 3, as they could make the board look even smarter than it is with the guarantee of it not being messed up. Colour and size change would just be rediculous, IMHO.

Fascist. You can never just leave it alone can you? You always have to bring it up. Idiot.

Monkeys. Little monkey gifs hanging from the AvP2 banner and the Red splat. Why not? They could scratch themselves and everything. Or, perhaps, a little pop-up that apears whenever Shaneo clicks Ctrl+C that says "You cheating scum. You cheating scum" over and over again in a Brummie voice.
