Play magazine gave Metal Gear Solid 2 77%, now I don't normally make short topics but i would like a Playstation fan of some description to justify this????

Why has the most anticipated game of the year recieved such a low score???

It got 9.6 from GameSpot, which is an amazing score.

People who don't have the patience to watch a few long FMV scenes won't like this game that much.

However, I love them, and there were some classic scenes in MGS1. They make you feel more involved in the game.

Don't take Magazine reviews as gospel wither, I'm sure it's better than 77% but I doubt it's worthy of a 10/10 either. Hell, everyone knows this game is amazing so just go buy it anyway.

Primarily because it's not original, I reckon.

Still, you are taking account of only the lowest (but still respectable) score. 77% - just short of 80% - or 8/10.

And you're ignoring the 96/100 of PSM2 (they don't use percentages, though it's essentially the same thing) and the 10/10 of the official mag.

MGS2 will not be to everyone's liking, just as MGS1 wasn't. But more people will like it than won't.

As with everything else, it's the negatives that get the most publicity. A few PS2's and Xbox's were faulty, and it's a major disaster. Same with one 'average' review score of MGS2. The happy people, and the higher scores, are ignored for a sensational tabloid-esque story.

77%. Well not everyone was going to love the game, were they? It's just one persons opinion.

And besides, word of this gets out, and people buy the magazine to see the review.

Bet this issue sold loads of copies.
