I'm sorry, I just have to scream with delight for a few seconds:

YEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!! WAHEY!!!!! C'MOOOOOOOONNNNN THE REDS!!!!!!!!

Right, that's enough for the moment. I have to say, although my opinion is a little biased, I felt Liverpool were the better team. They frustrated United who never really got in a good shot at goal (apart from Giggs possibly.)

The second half was mostly Liverpool, and although they didn't dominate in the sense they were attacking all the time, they had more of the ball and used it well throughout.

Heskey played extremely well I thought, although I was surprised he wasn't replaced by Anelka. Owen did what he was instructed, Gerrard and Murphy were both fantastic and the defence was superb, especially the upcoming Stephen Wright.

Now they're up to 3rd in the league, and right back in it. This victory should give them a much-needed boost, and I reckon that there's still hope for the Reds.

Brilliant performance lads, and although you won't read this, I'd like to say a massive WELL DONE!!

All over Xmas and the New Year, while the other top teams were playing and taking points off of each other, United have had what can only be considered relatively matches.

Fair enough - it's given them a good run, and they've made up the ground on the rest. It may be down to the luck of the draw, but they couldn't have had an easier few weeks if they'd drawn up the fixture list themselves.

Tonight, with the first decent team they've met for a while, they lose. And it has to be said, Liverpool weren't exactly outstanding themselves!

A big well done to the rdes, they played superbly and denied Man Utd of any real chances. We should now use this result as a springboard for future success
