YEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!! WAHEY!!!!! C'MOOOOOOOONNNNN THE REDS!!!!!!!!
Right, that's enough for the moment. I have to say, although my opinion is a little biased, I felt Liverpool were the better team. They frustrated United who never really got in a good shot at goal (apart from Giggs possibly.)
The second half was mostly Liverpool, and although they didn't dominate in the sense they were attacking all the time, they had more of the ball and used it well throughout.
Heskey played extremely well I thought, although I was surprised he wasn't replaced by Anelka. Owen did what he was instructed, Gerrard and Murphy were both fantastic and the defence was superb, especially the upcoming Stephen Wright.
Now they're up to 3rd in the league, and right back in it. This victory should give them a much-needed boost, and I reckon that there's still hope for the Reds.
Brilliant performance lads, and although you won't read this, I'd like to say a massive WELL DONE!!

Sure, its a way of winning, but it isnt very exciting or enjoyable to

Who cares wether or not it is exciting? Would you rather lose 3-1 in a very exciting game?...or win 2-1 in a boring contest. Remember, the formula which got us 5 cups and into the Champions League must be good, otherwise it wouldn't have happened. The strategy that works best is the one that wins matches, so you can't comment on if it is right or wrong.
Outclassed in the FA Cup final, forced to penalties by a lower-division team in the Wothington Cup, and shown up royally by Alaves in the UEFA Cup. (Can't comment on the others because I didn't see them.)
And I thought United were jammy gits when they beat Bayern in the Champion's League!
I'm sure you all enjoyed calling Arsenal boring in the George Graham days, so you'll just have to live eith it now.
Boring, boring Scousers! :-)
Our plan is to frustrate teams in the first 20 mins. Man United went straight on the attack, and we stopped them from having a decent shot on goal. They became frustrated, we began to play better and better and midway through the second half we were definitely the better team.
Fergie hates our defensive style? Well, it obviously works if we've beaten them 5 times in a row. We don't always have to be exciting, and we have a much more defensive midfield than teams like Arsenal and Man United.
I'm sick of people saying Liverpool are boring. As I've said, Liverpool played some great attacking football during the second half. And I think it's understandable when you come up against Manchester United, who were on a superb run of form at the time.
And Venom, why shouldn't we win the title? We're still right up there, and in the past year we've won the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup, Charity Shield, Worthington Cup and the European Super Cup, so it's a tactic that obviously works.
One more comment on the boring football?? Liverpool 5, Alaves 4 anyone??
It *was* a great goal by Liverpool, but they didn't really create any other chances. (Did anyone else think Blanc was superb last night?) I know Man U didn't, but that was due to Liverpool putting 8 men behind the ball at all times, and this has been their downfall.
Man U at home will always attack. And generally they will score goals, because their attacking players are better than most defences. The other top teams (Leeds, Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea) also attack other teams, this leaves gaps at the back making them vunerable to conceding goals. However against the lesser teams they do well.
Liverpool play differently, they try to sneak goals and then hit teams on the break. This tactic works well in certain situations, and especially against the other top teams, who are going to come on to them. However, as Southampton et al have shown, it won't work if a lesser team (even though they are playing at home) doesn't attack them. Then Liverpool have to come forward themselves, and then they cannot break the teams down. See Liverpools goals tally this season and you will see what I mean.
Teams have wisened up to playing Liverpool, they will sit back, make them attack, and take points off of them. Man U because of the way they play, cannot do this, it is not in their nature (and didn't use to be in Liverpools) so that is why they have not beaten Liverpool in 6 games.
Liverpool won't win the Championship, and are going to find it hard to get in the top three. Man U might not win it, but they will be in the top three at least, with Arsenal and Leeds.
If Liverpool actually came out and played football then I dont think they would have a chance.
Sure, its a way of winning, but it isnt very exciting or enjoyable to watch now is it?
Also, I would like to offer my congratulations to Liverpool, although it's very doubtful they'll read this :P
*Goes smug*

I thought it was a really poor game. United had all the possession but

Liverpool tend to defend, and try to attack on the

Does Everton ring any bells? Kevn Campbell scored first in about 5 minutes, after that, we won 3-1, and it was at Goodison Park
That is why they aren't going to win the title.
