eh eh?

The bloody thing keeps freezing up every 10 minutes or so and sometimes comes back to life and others I need to restart computer

I hate it and have shouted abuse at it

So why eh?

It started after restoring computer to factory settings... then I updated to Explorer 6 to see if that would help but it doesn't

I can't afford one

the reason explorer 6 frezzes is because sheepy is on it

All in coincidence with me restoring computer and changing IE6

You fell into their trap.
Apple once said, that they only gurantee the system as long as you run Apple software products. Problem is with that, things like PhotoShop are made by Adobe, Word is made by MS, CorelDraw by Corel, etc. So you cant stick to it, and the PC is no different.
