In an attempt to make my life more exciting than it already is... challenge enough there... I've started to learn how to scuba dive. You know, with the air cylinders and masks and stuff.

It's a lot more fun than I first imagined. Bit scared at first, breathing underwater... but it's pretty damn cool.

It'll also be cool to say "I'm a qualified sports diver" too.

So come on you sad bunch, take something up. Never too late to learn anything.

Or if you have... what are you learning at the moment?

Meh, i tried a BSAC course. Didn't like the style, but then again, I learned in tropics.

My best diving moments(to make everyone jealous)

1.) Diving with hammerhead sharks

2.) The night dive with a small manta

3.) Pillar of rock with grey reef sharks and MASSIVE mantas.

4.) Diving onto a wrecked WW2 convoy ship, many barracuda

5.) Diving on a sunk ferry, that had a reef shark schoal living in it.

BSAC, err... no idea, started last night in a swimming pool. :0D

Yeah, that's what I'm aiming for. Underwater photography must rule so much.

It'll be great to walk into Rareware with, too, if I get that interview...

Cool, you sound pretty experienced in the computer field. Luckily the day is young for me and I am advanced for my age in computers, so I have quite a lot of time to improve.

I too would like to take up guitar one day and have wanted to since I was a kid. I'm really going to make an effort to get one soon. I'm not too into sports, especially Rugby, as I'm not really built for it. I'm well built for my size, but my size is the problem! :P

Yeah, scuba diving rules.

You have NO idea how much crap there is in a normal swimming pool. :0) I advise you all to never, ever drink the water from there, after what I saw last night.

Perhaps it's just the Welsh health authority being their normal self, mind.

I started learning at 12. I have my PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Specialities Night Diver and Nitrox Diver. Nitrox was a great expierence - using air with 32% or 36% oxygen. This means you can stay down longer, but get oxygen poisoning shallower, approx 21 metres.

And at the moment I'm working towards my Rescue Diver. My aim is to be a PADI Divemaster by the time I'm 18, so I can take a gap year leading dives around the world. That would be cool.

I've done mostly tropical diving, but just started in Britain. Not as good. A night dive in the Maldives, under moonlight....then a manta ray goes overhead...one of the best days of my life.

uni takes up too much time right now. But at uni I have already learned quite a bit of HTML, JAVA, C and other things like how the MIPS Co processor is put together, how to analyze computers for true performance etc.

When I get the time I hopefully will get back into sports more,, play more footy, rugby, kick boxing etc and maybe one day learn guitar ( have wanted too since I was a kid but don't have time/patience/enough effort)

Scuba diving is cool, my friend is trying to get his training certificate thing so he can teach and take out other divers on trips etc.

Cool, that's fair enough. To be honest, I'm not very sociable at all... hense half the people on these forums being blocked by me. :0)

Meeting new people is hard, and even with this diving stuff, there are no people my age at all there, all over thirties. It's not so bad, it's great to see so many people passionate about something.

Firstly, I'm quite shy, so I find it difficult to get into sociable groups, unless my friends are in them, of course. I am 'learning' basic HTML at the moment, and it's a LOT easier than I thought. Just a bunch of tags collaborated with some code and or text. Once I've mastered HTML, I hope to move onto C++ Programming.
