It is a topic we think of all the time, but rarely picked up upon on really.
Which design proves more in line for what we actually want?

To be totally honest about it, the Playstation 2 design is rather 'Jagged' looking, it's fairly big when you lie the console the proper way, but the vertical option is even more pointless and can become a pain after a while-loading games in and out of the tray. Trying to get it to go along side your DVD and video can lead to problems if you go vertical.
And for goodness sake, whats with the dreaded 'power' switch behind the console for??, another thing with the PS2 design that we could have done without.

As for the X-Box, yes the console looks nice in Pics, but honestly the thing is a giant plastic slab with air-vents!
Ever see it on T.V? Especially seeing it along side the Gamecube, makes this monster look bigger than you could possibly imagine.
If the thing had of been smaller, yes it would of been a bit more appealing!, even if it has a pointless green bubble ontop.

And finally the Gamecube, which looks to be my favourite of the lot, looks sleek despite rumblings from other people.

It has been accused of looking 'toyish' sporting a useless handle.
But to be honest, the handle would be a great thing, there have been many times my PS/N64/PS2 etc has been shipped about the house from room to room; and with this GC handle it will make the task more easier.
Then you have the colours it comes in 'You have a choice' , with my favourite being black, with even a stylish top Disc loading tray.

Yes the thing in my opinion looks swell, beats the other two consoles hands down in looks. And furthermore it has what I want a console to do: To fit in with the rest of my electrical equipment with ease, It is compact-It can be carried about the house with no problems and the thing looks nice- let alone plays the best games.
With the X-Box and PS2, I 'don't' and 'won't' get that what I get with the Gamecube.
Simple.

A few misunderstandings there Ant.
It's 5th February that the announcement comes and it's actually expected to launch within a few weeks.
Early March looks the likeliest, late Feb if we're seriously lucky, late march if our lucks not so good, and after march if things go completely wrong.

Although the Gamecube's initial batch un the US almost completely sold out, the second batch didn't do so well and won't need re-stocking so quickly.

I think Nintendo realises that it needs good sales from Europe and is going to suddenly push ahead with the launch to take the continent by surprise.

Sure thing TBN, I do have some views to offer.

For a start, like Aliboy said it's what inside the console that counts, and at the moment here in the UK ONLY the PS2 is offering that to us. Although, 'a few weeks after February' we might finally know when the GC is making it's way to our shores.

But personally, I don't think the PS2 looks bad. Jagged?? What the hell is that about?? It's nothing special, true, but I like the colours, and especially the bright lights. I stand it up with it's face towards me, and it looks really good next to my TV (no rhyme intended.)

GameCube?? When I first saw a pic I said it looked like an ice cube. Now, with the handle, I call it a briefcase. The colours are all a bit too bright for me, although I heard there's a black one too.

The X-Box, I haven't seen much of. I like the colours, not sure about anything else though.

And what you said about the GC 'playing the best games, and how it's the truth,' have you even played a GC??

And perhaps the question is, are you going to be able to have one in your home before this September??

I'm going to come in here and spam this topic JUST like Smeagol did to our story, on purpose, fully knowing he shouldn't have done it.

Either apologise, or sod off.
