The stats for the week ending February 8 are in, and it's falls in sales across the board
Following a brief one week boost in overall unit sales, figures for the week ending February 8 (week six) in the UK show an overall drop in numbers.
Over the seven day period, PS2 sold 15,153 units, a drop of nine percent on the previous week's tally, with Xbox holding firm at number two, shifting 4,744 units, down 14 percent. GBA notched up 4,249 (down one percent), while GameCube continues to struggle with 1,764 units sold over the period, down one percent.

Why is GBA selling so well, when the new one is out soon? PS2 still selling nearly 3 times the amount of Xbox, but GC really struggling.
Thoughts?

Well.
;)
Nintendo on the other hand are doing nothing for the Gamecube in terms of advertising, They should hauls their backsides into action...
Ever since the GameCube was released in America, the battle for second place has been somewhat of an up and down affair (no jokes, please). Before Christmas, it seemed the X-Box had second place in it's grasp but with the timely releases of Resident Evil Zero and Metroid Prime, the GameCube overtook and now maintains second place in the States.
Both consoles are doing well enough to keep great games coming out on them though - so I don't mind about sales, really.

And are you trying to say it didn't help? GC sold very well when Mario Sunshine was released.
Mario was out in October - consoles are no longer selling for him. So now he's saying what will happen when Metroid Prime, Zelda: Wind Waker and Mario Kart will do when they are released later this year. :-)
Nintendo were just 1,000 sales off the PS2 this Christmas in Japan, and were very close to the Xbox in the US (I'm not sure who was further ahead) - here, however, the GC isn't doing too well at all - hopefully by the time Nintendo are releasing their next console, they'll have learned that you just can't hope to do well in Europe when you a.) Ignore us, b.) leave us in the dark for so long and c.) almost completely forget about advertising.

That very same thing was said when Mario was released...
