I have read the "Rules" and "How to win" pages on the website's main page. It says that you must be creative, making your work original and something that will make people buy the product. But the funny thing is, everyone's work is rather good. Isn't it quite hard, considering how competitive it must be to win? I mean, the company say it's real easy, but when it comes down to it...it's seems very hard.

Is this true, or am I wrong for saying so?

I would really appreciate anyone's help, please.

Thank you all.

Of course not. The way I see it, if you treat people as fools you've no chance of selling anything to them. We all know a little about the games we want to buy, and expect to read about some of the bad points.

However, it's advisable not to review a product expressing your hate for it as that'll get you no-where. It's a fine balance. At least make people aware how you feel about some of the 'less' impressive features.

How can you truly represent a game as being great without outlining the area's for future improvement?

Dan2K1, that's a very good point.

I might submit some reviews that slate games someday. I can find fault with anything these days, so it seems...

Hope that helps.

If not, email someone else.

Exactly - after all...no game is perfect, right?

I know how you feel here. I have reviewed games that I have thought were absolutely >DO NOT POST THIS WORD AGAIN< and in my opinion they've been great reviews - I would say that of course...but I have never seen a review slating a game win a game, unless it's been part of a discussion.

Now although this may seem harsh, it is true. There is actual reasoning behind Special Reserve giving away free games, like it or not.

Hope that helps.

Mystique has a shrine in her room dedicated to her.

So beware...

Ah...I see - thank you Dan2K1 - another polite member at GAD.

So who else is giving the wrong advice then? Dont make me set Dan2K1 on you. He'll hunt you down and ask questions later.

Thanks for the advice man

That's fair enough when it comes to writing reviews, but the fact is you cannot lie to people. The best customer service is to be as honest as you can (or at least appear that way.) You should be able to talk about some of the down points, but be able to build the game up with the positive points. You can't be biased, because then your not reviewing the game properly.

And, when it comes to posting in these forums, it's ALL about opinions.

Also - take Longy's advice, especially when he's under the influence...

Yes...but the funny thing about this is:

If I speak the truth about every game I play, showing my REAL feelings about them, I would be saying *good* and *bad* stuff. How can that help people buy the game?
Don't the staff at Special Reserve look for reviews that will *sell* the product? Isn't that how you win? - that's what the rules say, anyway.
