I have read the "Rules" and "How to win" pages on the website's main page. It says that you must be creative, making your work original and something that will make people buy the product. But the funny thing is, everyone's work is rather good. Isn't it quite hard, considering how competitive it must be to win? I mean, the company say it's real easy, but when it comes down to it...it's seems very hard.

Is this true, or am I wrong for saying so?

I would really appreciate anyone's help, please.

Thank you all.

well there are a few ways you could submit a few cheats or hints, or reviews or a good post on the forum, a good way to asure a win in the chat forum is if you hire a few notables to do some posts in your post (its an observastion)

Has marketing 'really' become such a major part?

Yes, it has. It's an almost subconsious thing, but there are various methods of advertising now that are much more important in the industry than they've ever been.

I would probably have never bought as many games as I have without having the Special Reserve club magazine turn up on my doorstep once a month, and although it's not direct marketing from the games companies, it's all part of the advertising system.

Best point since I made this topic

Very well said - thanks

Ooh, a difference of opinion.

If you are writing something, try and show both sides of the story.

It's like Tony Hawk's 3. Stay balanced and you'll do better, you need skill for the control, but you should have plenty of tricks up your sleeve.

Good Luck, whatever the weather.

If it's the best submission of the day then it'll win - but they have to agree with you that it is so.

However, maybe change it from being a console war topic to being a Console Unity topic - how Sega will link all three together etc...

Anyway, should you know enough about gaming, and if you're able to utilise the intelligence that is clearly evident, then I have little doubt in you winning a game within a week or so.

Good Luck, whatever the weather.

Well, take a different view on the situation. Try and find a unique point that hasn't been discussed in as much detail and write about it.

Take a look at the faults of this "next-generation" of games, or the way marketing has become such a major part of the way the industry works.

Hahaha I've just received an email entitled "get white teeth instantly"

Now that's stupid.

Right - if a game has no impressive points or moments of goodness, then by all means focus on it's shambolic and stupid features - slate away, have your own back on the publisher for having faith in such a dire games company and then haveing the audacity to sell it to the general public.

Slate away, win gameaday...

Or not, it's up to you.

Seems like I have a chance then, considering I am new to the site, so perhaps it's a way of Special Reserve staff welcoming new people to their website. It surely seems that way.

Regarding your thoughts on next generation consoles, it does sound like a good idea, but is it not the same as a console war?

By the way - Just Arrived Members have a high % rate of winning on their first day, if this makes any sense.

Another thing - if you write a lot about Sega, it may win as they haven't been mentioned for a while:

Maybe write a topic about the next generation of consoles, how each will fare, and perhaps conclude somehow that Sega will come out on top, whichever console reigns supreme, seeing as it will be making games for all 3.
