No, it won`t be as lond as the FOG version.
Why am I trying it out anyway?
The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.
Plus when I'm joking around, they help a lot in telling people on here that I'm joking with comments I make at times instead of people taking things as though I really mean them as a big nasty insult. :-)
I guess the smilies are part of the Sav package now. ;-))
Not saying thats a bad thing! Makes your post sound much nicer! :D
I think its little ideas that can really help to improve a games longevity. Not all games are like Halo or Desert Storm where they can be approached differently. But these sort of ideas would really help things like driving games. :-)
Maybe RPG's could have this kind of thing to them too. Imagine being in MMORPG with seasons like Christmas changing the look of villages, etc. :-)
It wouldn't even have to be realistic dates - maybe a game would have other celebrations because of the religions and events that are in the story. :-)
As you can see I'm not too bad at brainstorming game ideas. I've been pretty notorious for long posts when it comes to this stuff. ;-))
"On the few weeks leading to Christmas, there could be Christmas lights in the streets you race on. If your racing in Hong Kong there could be >the Chinese New Year. Maybe dates such as Halloween could be covered too with more attention given to it on U.S courses (as they are more heavily into the day)."
That would be soooooo cool! I'm just imaging driving through London on November 5th with fireworks all over the place =)

nope still here hmmmmmm. i always get banned for little things anyway. nice to see all those nintys swearing away and i say 1 homosexual remark and i get banned.
Bah still come back, just not the same without me :)
I think the in game clock really helped to add something to MSR in particular. If you couldn't do a track in say Japan at night, you could try to arrange a time to go on and play it during the day when theres better visability.
What would also be very good is if the game registered the date as well as the time. Some games have touched on this, but it hasn't really been fully looked into. On the few weeks leading to Christmas, there could be Christmas lights in the streets you race on. If your racing in Hong Kong there could be the Chinese New Year. Maybe dates such as Halloween could be covered too with more attention given to it on U.S courses (as they are more heavily into the day).
This would give players some incentive to go back to the game at different times and dates and play it agai and again. The downloads will no doubt be an excellent feature too. :-)
If you go back and play the original GTA on the PC you can hear the bass pumping out of certain cars when you go past them. I thought that was quite a cool feature, but they didnt have it on GTA3 :(
Would love to see that option in the way you described it!
Cool, whens PGR 2 due?
That feature about the time on the game being affected by the time on your console is pretty damn cool! I remeber that feature being on the PC version of FIFA 97...oh yeh, those were days...heh, Des lynam would say somthin like "its amzing that they are playing football at this time of the night!" when i played at like 1am in the morning :)
You'll no doubt be happy to know that PGR 2 is on the way mate. ;-)
It'll be online playable on X-Box Live, new cities will be added such as Edinburgh and Hong Kong and apparently, you could be able to download extra stuff onto your hard drive such as new cars and tracks. :-)
Apparently they're also looking to improve the kudos system as well which could be interesting. One thing I miss on PGR that was on MSR (on the DC) is that the time on the game was affected by your consoles clock. So if you were racing in the morning, it would be morning in the game. :-)
It even changed with the time zone depending on what track you decided to play at certain times of the day.
It would be nice if they added this back into the game for PGR2.
I love listen to my own tracks as I race too. :-) I mean, I'd never wanna change the music in games such as Halo and stuff. But for games such as PGR, its an excellent option. :-)
Just to go with that big street racing style and everything, am I the only one who thinks it would be cool to have your own tracks playing online in your own car ? What I mean is that you hear the music as though its coming from the car - then as you pass other players, you can hear the music in their car slightly as you go past them. Maybe the volume of players music could change as you pass them depending on how high the music volume is set on each of their games. ;-))
This could make for some pretty good starts to a race. Instead of having 3 seconds to start, maybe there could be 20 seconds or something on the starter line where all the players are lined up and can adjust their music volume and rev their engines and stuff. Just a thought. ;-)
Well, anyways, i got Project gotham racing on Monday and love it toooo bits! Not quite GT3 but still a quality racer, and i love the damage! Night races get a lot more interesting once you knock out both your headlights lol! and the kudos scoring system is new to me, and love that also!
Very pleased with it anyways.
oh, and i love crusing along listening to my tupac and Dr.dre tracks =)
