No, it won`t be as lond as the FOG version.
Why am I trying it out anyway?
The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.
One thing that stuck me is there is virtually no music in the game.... strange.
Ordering around the guys who are with you works well. And there's something satisfying about torching the monsters and hearing them scream.
Anyone into story-driven adventures is bound to like it.
I've been playing The Thing yesterday/today and it's pretty good. It recreates the atmosphere of the film quite well.
Blood testing your squad to see if they're infected doesn't seem to work though. Twice now I've tested people and been given the all-clear, only for them to turn into a monster a few seconds later.
It's a decent adventure/survival horror, but from what I've seen, I wouldn't say it was an essential purchase.
Shame about CT3. :-( What a stupid mistake to make on the game. Maybe they'll get the problem sorted.
But I won't be buying CT3 unless they officially sort out the audio bugs.
Whoever did the PAL conversion is at fault.
Anyway, The Thing quite good - should be a good adventure.
I thought the demo was decent though! Nomad, you must'nt have gone off CT already surely?
It's all to do with the customer's voices.
Every time they speak (when in the cab), instead of hearing their voices, all you get is an extremely loud horrible "growling" sound - which is actually louder than the music.
People on the OXM forum have confirmed that their copies suffer the same problem. I went through two copies yesterday, and I'm taking my current copy back today to swap it for The Thing.
What a joke! It might seem trivial to some, but having looked forward to the game, this is a shameful fcuk up!
Gotta read some of the stuff, I think it all from the TGS.
I've been trying to get on there for a while, havnt tried over the last few days though.
Have to give that a look!
Love PGR too, want to complete THPS3 FULLY though before I really start playing it. Best car I got so far is the Porche Boxter, nice. I'm finding getting silvers is hard enough, never mind Gold!
