Why am I trying it out anyway?

The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.

Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.

As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)

Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.

Well seeing as your specifically looking for Kitana - open the koffin KI. It will cost you 2931 sapphire coins. ;-)

Yes sorry Sav its because I have unlocked Nitara (the vampire) and I am wanting to unlock Kitana :)

I am close to looking but I think it will spoil what I am currently enjoying. The Koffins which require more Koins naturally contain the characters but earlier today I was tricked into spending 4000 + Koins on a Koffin which contained the a new area. The area was Palace Grounds and although it was a nice change I would have much prefered a new character.

I have unlocked Reptile today and his finisher is very nasty to say the least ;) I still have a bit to unlock but I would hardly call it a chore. Any other finishers to look out for?

Its Kitana who has the fans. :-) I'm guessing you already knew that and just said Nitara by mistake though. ;-)

I've unlocked all the alternative costumes. I've actually written down which coffins contain the various characters and costumes so I'll put them in the tips area. ;-)

As for Scorpion - I prefer the spear to the snake idea. ;-) And going onto nasty death moves, I think you'll want to be looking along the lines of Reptile and Cyrax. ;-)

i am new to this forum (and SR for that matter) and I have just got an Xbox for chrsitmas and I am mates with ALASTAIR. Should I pick up Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance? Cheers!

Nitara sounds like an interesting character and after reading that you can acatually impale her fans into an opponent makes me more anxious to unlock her and see what she can do. Which would you say had the most stomach churning finisher? I thought Sonya's was quite twisted but the one that surprised me the most was Johnny Cage's :) I was expecting something like a decapitation or something else that isn't over the top, however when I saw it I think I just sat there in amazement wondering what he had just done. Probably the most disappointing for me was Scorpions as I had high jopes for an ultra slick Mortal Kombat finishing move yet it didn't really stretch the imagination in any way.

In the Series that was on the TV (Mortal Kombat Conquest) Scorpion's spear is actually a snake with very sharp teeth and I prefer the snake idea to the spear. What do you think? Have you unlocked Scorpions second costume yet? I am searchin for it but I just seem to be unlocking comic art at the moment.

Frost's is pretty good and Cyrax has a pretty nasty finisher too. ;-)
Nitara is becoming my overall favourite character - excellent combos, good special moves, sick finisher. Her kama weapons are good, its just ashame that larger combos aren't possible.

Graphics I would give a SOLID 8. The textures are nice, the character design is excellent and the environments (although not at Dead or Alive 3 level) are great to look at. The sound I would give a 7. Great music, SFX are basic and without my Dolby Digital system I couldn't hear the narrator at the beginning of the game. Gameplay I would give a Solid 9-9.5! Great controls, lots of different levels and a LOT to unlock. Overall I would give the game 9/10 and a definite purchase which ever console you get the game for.

Hmmm, I can vaguely remember playing this game on the SNES? Or one on those consoles anyway.

Whats it like, Graphics? Sound? Gameplay?

I am hoping to get Broadband in March as well so I will be picking up Xbox Live as well. For the GameCube I will be getting Metroid Prime, Resident Evil: Zero and Skies of Arcadia but March is the month of the Xbox I feel. For anyone who hasn't played Shenmue 2 before you are in for an amazing adventure and possibly the best Xbox game to date. I have completed Shenmue 2 twice yet I will be picking up the Xbox version purely for the improvements, Dolby Digital encoding and to keep the bid for Shenmue 3 alive. I am going to do what you are doing Gamezfreak and see if I can pick up a copy of Jet Set Radio Future for under £15.

Sav I know what you mean about MKDA, it is one of the most addicitve games I have ever played and until I have completed the Arcade mode with everyone, completed Konquest with everyone and unlocked every Koffin I won't be putting the controller down. It really is a superb game and although I felt dubious about the finishers at first I now feel that they help to re-create the magic that was Mortal Kombat. My favourite finishers so far are:

Sub Zero (using Alternate costume)
Raiden
Johnny Cage
Scoropions (not as much as the others)
Kano
Sonya
Shang Tsung

Any favourites of yours? I have only unlocked 3 characters but I have unlocked a LOT of character art and video's along with alternate costumes. Nitara's finisher is quite sick but I am not complaining in the slightest. Gamezfreak you have to pick up this game as I will guarentee that you will enjoy every minute of it.
