Why am I trying it out anyway?
The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.

Mav - the cartoons are a seperate area mate. At least they portrayed what the games are about. The film was diabolical and I have sympathy for any tape it was copied to. Like community service for film cassettes - or a fate worse than the death sentance. Certainly felt that way watching it.
I loved the StreetFighter games and enjoyed the Anime film of it. I really wanted to avoid the film though cause I just knew it was going to be a spastics wet dream.
Unfortunatly a couple of friends dragged me kicking and screaming to watch it and I sat through the most painful hour and a half of my life. I sat there and looked on as some of my favourite games characters were made to look like retards in stupid roles - a far cry from what I ever had in my young mind in making a great film of the game.
Quite how Ryu and Ken managed to end up like some fighting versions of Only Fools & Horses characters is beyond me.
To think of the other things I could have done better with the time rather than watch those crap films - like laying in bed with severe food poisoning.

I agree with you on all points except.. I actually liked this one. Quite fun I'd say. I also thought the cartoons on Sunday mornings were the nuts too.

Lets look at the examples....
Tomb Raider - Crud
Street Fighter - Oh holy Jesus, where do we even start ripping into this turkey.
Mario Bros - Probably one of the biggest piles of skank I've ever had the misfortune to watch.
Mortal Kombat - the cheap looking costumes really reflect on what the content on the films are like.
I've also heard that Wes Craven is making a film version of American McGee's Alice. If theres any hope of a game to film success, my money would be on this one.
As for a Halo film, with a good budget, it could be pretty damn good. With a typical game to film budget however, its likely to be complete pony with the actor portraying Master Chief probably wearing what looks like a £10 kids dress up costume from Argos.

A good game does not make a good film. For example the other night I was watching TV late and Mortal Kombat was on.

According to a report on planetxbox.com we could all be watching master chief in the big screen.
