Sega recently shelved all it's GC sports titles in development due to poor performance of its GC titles.
Now one of the big hitters THQ has thrown doubt on the viability of developing for the Gamecube due to the more expensive (non standard discs) developement costs, but mostly to do with the GC continued poor performance particularly compared to the PS2.

"Our GameCube portfolio did not perform up to expectations," CEO Brian Farrell said during the conference call. "In response to this, we have reduced the number of products in development for the GameCube platform."

I just nearly wet myself laughing.
I can imagine Top Score sitting at home getting sexually excited over IB not replying and Update making lies about the PS2....

Are you saying that you've seen monitors where a printer can print in a better resolution than the monitor itself?
That's incredibly crap, you still use BBC monitors?

And where is the most appropriate software?

Yea but, like this computer in front of me. An image might look @hit on screen, but the print quality (which is more important to most people) is dependant only on software and printer.

You really do live in a world of your own don't you.
Once again the no-brainer known as Insane has shown his lack of knowledge and facts when i comes to arguing a case.
Update 2.01 has landed a body blow and Insane is OUT FOR THE COUNT.
PS2 is the only console with standard modern connections, then again Nintendo have never produced anything standard that would be to easy, they are not third for nothing.
MS was never gonna use standard connections either customised USB and dvd that doesn't work without the remote sounds like a money earner to me.

PS2 controller sockets were only made like they are to maintain backward compatibility with PS1 stuff. Add on's should ideally use USB or FireWire. Both have faster data transfer rates, and are hot pluggable proper, and if the "add on" has a "pass through" USB or FireWire port - you can daisy chain upto 128 devices. And on a more basic level, USB and FireWire are popular "open" tech. You can plug in USB + FireWire add on's without hardware changes from the PC industry. All you need is a bit of PS2 software. This would be cheaper than making an "add on" which makes use of the controller port hardware/software.
