Maybe you've seen it all already but this on IGN today:

Defeated enemies don't drop as many power-ups as the US version; less ammo and energy
Stronger enemies: it takes more shots to eliminate certain enemies and their attacks are more powerful
Faster loss of energy when walking on acid or lava
Some doors will now require multiple shots to open just like in the SNES game
Hint system refined: it takes 10-15 minutes longer for hints to appear when players are stuck
Gamers can skip cut-scenes after they've played through once
Includes speech: English speech for the intro and voice output when scanning objects and adding them to the log. Also, a voice notifies players when doors are locked and unlocked and there is an added voice for the ending of the game

Looks like they think we play better games, or have higher IQ's.

I Like. :o)

I got this on GAD too.

*waits*

I'm going to have to buy Vexx to fill the gap until the 21st. And Resi on the 30th. Damn my brother.

I just claimed this as a GAD.

Super Monkey Ball 2 next week.
Metroid Prime the week after.
Championship Manager 4 the week after that.

And it could've been Resident Evil: Zero this week as well - but I gave that as miss.

March is good.

I don't remember there being voices in Super Metroid...

Anyway, two things:

First, you MUST TURN HINTS OFF ANYWAY, if you turn off hints then you really are playing Super Metroid in 3D. The hints are gay, it tells you where to go, and that is not the Metroid way.

And secondly, I'm currently playing through on hard mode and you lose health incredibly quickly, I'm glad I'm not going to have to play through on super hard mode now :)

Especially the ones in your head that tell you to kill.

You really should go to a doctor about that mate.

I think it's great. It's just another example of how Nintendo Europe are pulling their fingers out to give us PAL gamers as good a quality service as the East...and West. Rock on Nintendo of Europe!

Ruin the atmosphere?

No. The voice in the intro of Super Metroid added loads to the atmosphere! Voices are great!

British gamers are more "hardcore" than any others. I read a report on this about 5-6 years back,. Essentially, it stated that we expect more from our games and we're more determined to complete tough games rather than Japs or Yanks.

Nope. I like my Metroid the way it is. And if you insisted on arguing about Freeloader, I had to reply with my pov. It was hardly a hissy fit as you got as worked up as me.

Sounds good to me.

Tphi is gonna throw a hissy fit now like he did when Freeloader was released.

The game is fine as it is. I can't understand why they're changing it. And speech will ruin the atmoshpere, especially telling you about unecessary things as locked doors.
