I recently got a ps2 for xmas :) with a game(f1) but decfided to purchase another game Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3. When i got it home and put it in to my machine i played it for an hour non stop, then decided to play f1. I had cleared my old memory card which had 1mb on when i came to save it it wouldn't because i had an old memory card i had enough space on it but it didn't let me save it. So now i have to go out and shell out £25 just for a memory card. Why did't sony just make the machine compatible with both cards it would save a lot of difficulty, or do what the xbox is doig putting hard drives in that will save money on memory and will never have to worry about it.

It's like saying why don't Sony

It's like saying why don't Sony make old PSone controllers and multi-taps compatible with PS2 - because they want to make money. People will be forced into buying a card as otherwise they can't progresss on any games that they buy. Also, the new memory cards have a new programming style (i.e the pictures are in 3D etc) aswell as them featuring the cherished MagicGate technology. It is easy for Microsoft with the xbox as they do not have to worry about backward compatibility like Sony's Playstation 2.

Eventually they will start bundling them. I don't care how much they'll cost anyway. I don't think a HD is neccesary (it takes ages to fill up 8mb, never mind however many gigabytes).

I'll just go for the modem, which is more likly to cost around £40-50 instead of £100.

well if the didn't make the ps2 memory card then they can't make extra cash,
plus games SHOULD be saving more information, compared to the psx, so a large memory card is required, plus the ps2 memory card can be used for a long time!!!
