Well, although it wasn't well publicised, Sony bought the company... and with it, all their expertise in handheld gaming (as well as some great licences like King of Fighters and Metal Slug).
So, how long do you think it is that Ninty see a cometitor on the hamdheld scene... it must have been in development for some time already!

Instead of taking gaming into full view of the public, and out of the shadows, they`d be stepping into an already very bright light. Annoying too, as so far I`ve avoided handhelds, but a Sony produced one might have changed my mind. Their screens would be second to none.
i dont like the graphics on most handhelds.
