"The Sony Handheld IS coming!"

Remember last year when we all heard the sad news: SNK, makers of the Neo Geo Pocket Colour, and developers of some brilliant games, had gone bust, and pulled out of the West.

Well, although it wasn't well publicised, Sony bought the company... and with it, all their expertise in handheld gaming (as well as some great licences like King of Fighters and Metal Slug).

So, how long do you think it is that Ninty see a cometitor on the hamdheld scene... it must have been in development for some time already!

sony have already beaten nintendo at their own game with the playstation but can they make it 2-0 with the handheld market only time will tell

when is comes to the best handheld its all about games like the gamegear was better than the gameboy in terms of power and features (that remindes me, gba looks like a pocket version of the game gear), the gb beat the gamegear because it had more games and better games.

i think if sony play there cards right they could beat ninty at there own game easily. i know the gameboy has a lot of games and ninty are now converting snes games but the psx also has millions of different games they could convert which are better then snes games and so a sony handheld would be a definate gba beater.

Are there any details at the moment, because even though I am a Sony chimp I doubt that they can beat Ninty at their own game.

may as well just put games on floppy discs it'd be even easier then to copy them

Errrr.... Tom, how do u put music on MDs???? U can't buy music on MDs... u buy a recorder and copy it on! Just buy 2 MD players and that's it!

Sony should make a mini PSone. It could use Minidisks instead of CDs, which would also make it more difficult to copy (I haven't even seen a Minidisk copier) and wouldn't be as expensive to buy as cartridges. The only expesive thing would be the actual console.

Actually, Sony have now gone into "i-mode" phones... like the next thing after WAP or G3...

These have screens as good as a GBA, and you download games from your provider...

Already Sega have made a few games on them (Sonic and Chu Chu if I remember correctly), while Namco have made Pacman!

Now if that isn't telling you anything about Sony's plans then what will!

that is a very good idea, stick a cartrige in any sony phone and play and as new phones come out the spec's get upgraded for even better games.
