I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"
The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.
The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.
I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.
If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)
Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.
> 'great songs' ? Ugh, some people just NEED to be killed...
The songs rule - 'Wash your hair with sham-sham-poo'
Metroid Prime
Mario Kart
Mario Tennis
Mario Golf
Mario 128
Pikmin 2
1080: Avalanche
F-Zero
Skies Of Arcadia: Legends
Driver 3
Ikaruga
Starfox: Armada
Galleon
And I'm quite sure there's a few more in there that I've forgotten about.
I was reading about Skies Of Arcadia Legends last night - think I'll pick that up. So far my GC games list of wants are...
Metroid Prime
Zelda: Windwaker
F-Zero
Skies Of Arcadia
Mario 128
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil 4
Mario Kart
Starfox: Armada
Will also be looking into...
Metroid Prime 2
Viewtiful Joe
Killer 7
Project Number 03
Dead Phoenix
Black And Bruised
So thats my list so far on GC. The second bunch might add to the definate buys as I find out more about them.
I've got 5 games though so far so not a bad start - I'll have 6 at the end of this week. ;-))
Die Hard
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Resident Evil Zero
Doshin (I will do it!)
Super Monkey Ball (doubt I ever will complete expert and then master)
Super Mario Sunshine (one shine!)
Metroid Fusion
Prime was so good I played it non-stop during half term and finished it, but I'm halfway through on hard mode now.
I still want Lost Kingdoms, Bomberman and Godzilla from last year, as well as SMB2 from this week.
If theres anything I don't like about this game its the item storage - or lack of. It can be a pain in the backside having to leave stuff on the floor and backtrack for it later.
I prefer the chest idea where you store stuff and you can pick it up from any save room that has the chest in it.
Once I've done that its time to go back to the mansion in the other game. ;-) I know I shouldn't want to complete games within a couple of days, but I just want to get onto Prime and not have other games half finished. :-) Much easier to enjoy a game when you haven't got a half finished one on your mind. ;-))
Games like Monkeyball I'm not too bothered about - just wanna unlock the mini games. But games with stories such as Resi Evil, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc - I really can't stand leaving them half finished. ;-))
Graphically it is identical, though the frame rate is probably quicker/smoother.
But then, it is a fantastic game, and it is free..
As you had Super Metroid, then you'll know it's definately a good thing not knowing what's coming. When you get it, make sure you turn the hints off, otherwise it will keep telling you where to go. And that isn't the Metroid way at all.
Sure as hell wouldn't want Prime or Windwaker ruined before I've started. Think I'm gonna help myself in paying off the games I want by shedding off 4 X-Box games that I don't think I really need.
Gonna get rid of Buffy - cause I'll be getting Indiana Jones which plays very similar, but its better. Quantum Redshift - cause I don't think I'll really play it again and I'll be getting my beloved F-Zero when it comes out. ;-)
Moto GP - as long as I have the game save my X-Box Live play is unaffected and I want Moto GP 2 when it comes out in a few months, so I might as well lose this one now while I can get a decent price on it.
Timesplitters 2 - I know there will be people that will go mental over this one, but I really don't think all that much of it, so I might as well just get rid of it and knock some cash off one of the games I want.
So there you have it. Won't affect my X-Box collection too much cause they'll be replaced with a bunch of new games. ;-))
> Wasn't so chuffed though when I got home and found that the DVD didn't
> work ! Ugh ! Cheap crappy disk !
Be greatful you got a cheap crappy disc, I brought my NGC for the DVD, Took it home and found out some little punk had took the dvd outta the sleeve, and taped it back on.
Anyone got the DVD that they are willing to send me?
