I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"
The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.
The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.
I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.
If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)
Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.
You can get different moves if you are holding weapons (but it only occurs on the left or right smash), the best weapon of course to use this move on is the Home Run Bat but it happens quite fast and always knocks opponents who are hit out of the arena.
And last but not least the smallest characters (e.g Picka, Picka) always get hit further with a normal attack than with normal sized charcters, and the biggest ones get hit the least distance.
My advice is to go through the Classic and Adventure modes and try each of the charcters moves until you know which is best for you. I've had many favourites from the beggining, I actually started out with Samus but after i got Marth I used him to get me Roy who is my clear favourite of the secret characters, but i still like using Link.
and my favourite arena is The Great Bay from Majoras Mask, I always win on there even against level 9 coms.
And the recover moves, though I've already forgotten them, since WS told me.

Well. Thats why the game is deeper than you think.
Train, use all the dodges, shields, reflects, mid air moves, throws into objects/other people, and you might just win.
Training, young padawan, is the key.
Still have a couple of Monkeyball 2 mini games to open up too. Smash Bros is still really annoying me - seems more of a button bash game. For all the moves I do, it seems anything the comp does is enough to send me flying off the screen. I've also noticed that it doesn't take much for mt to fall off the level, even as I try to use jumps and stuff to get back to safety. The comp of course on the other hand can be in the pit of despair and still do a shedload of jumps to get back on the level. Bloody annoying.
Anyway, maybe luck will be in tonight and I'll be allowed to get a couple of those stupid events done, getting me closer to earning Pichu. One coll thing about the game though is the Pokeballs - seems that all the Pokemon have been included in the game with the amount of varieties I've seen during fights. :-)
Some of those events really wound me up, you just have to train.
I think I could qualify as one of the X-Men by now, playing SSBM has given me freaky reflex powers; I can take on 3 level 9 computer players and win, only taking 2 or 3 hits the entire match.
I'm only doing the git things cause I wanna earn Pichu. Feel like I'm wasting the evening just playing this same poxy event agian and again. Oh well, maybe in a minute by some fluke, all the opposition will fall off the edge by mistake. Feels like thats the only way its gonna possibly be done. Bloody events.
Mav - I own them cause I wanted them. Godzilla is far from superstar status but its a laugh to mess around with sometimes - throw a few buildings around, etc. And as for for Bounty Hunter - I was curious about it and a bloke at work was enjoying the game so I thought I'd try it. I'm not bothered about Jedi Knight 2 cause I had a brief go and it was nothing that really screamed "buy me". Plus I have the likes of Halo, Metroid Prime, Unreal Championship and for those mad moments - Serious Sam. So until some big FPS titles come out, I'm happy to wait.
Anyway, I think I've made all my GC purchases now until the release of Zelda. ;-))
