Hi guys,

Freeola is planning an ADSL launch in the new year. I would appreciate it if could post any comments as to what you'd like to see with this service.

If you are having a particularly good or bad time with an existing provider then tell us what impresses or annoys you and we'll try and incorporate as much as possible into our own offering.

What do you currently pay and is it monthly, quarterly or all up-front.

Does your current provider block certain ports?

Does it go very slow at night?

Look forward to reading your comments.

Sadly I don't think it will be sub £30 due to the fact that it costs us more than that to buy it. However, I promise you it'll be unique enough for you to want it ;-)

And so NTL should be. After all, they DO use a cable service. :)

£35? I don't think. NTL are cheaper than that.

Well, if the modem is no more than £120 and the service is no more than £35 a month, I reckon you've got your first customer right here. Now, chop chop! :)

We wouldn't offer a Wires Only service without selling the modem - don't worry!

I'm all for the Wires-only option, as long as Special Reserve offer us the correct ADSL modem. I wouldn't wanna go and do something like buy the wrong one...

I'm with NTL on a 512k broadband cable modem for £24.99 per month which includes the rental of the cable modem (Terayon TeraJet TJ210). If I bought the cable modem outright to avoid the rental, it would cost me £150, but the monthly charge would drop to £19.99 per month.

We get all our telephone and digital cable TV services from NTL too, so I'd currently have no interest in switching providers. However, I would like to be able to upload to my Freeola-hosted domain via FTP over my current NTL connection.

Obviously this would require some form of fee - possibly with the option of monthly, quarterly or annual payment. It would need to be a very reasonable price, though. Maybe there could be some kind of price banding, where those sites which are run for profit pay a higher charge than those which don't

BT Openworld and the like provide an All Inclusive ADSL package, this meaning they come and install a microfilters on your phone sockets and install an extension if you want one. The package also includes rental of a modem. Wires only means they upgrade their end and you sort out your end yourself. AFAIK anyway..
