Hi guys,

Freeola is planning an ADSL launch in the new year. I would appreciate it if could post any comments as to what you'd like to see with this service.

If you are having a particularly good or bad time with an existing provider then tell us what impresses or annoys you and we'll try and incorporate as much as possible into our own offering.

What do you currently pay and is it monthly, quarterly or all up-front.

Does your current provider block certain ports?

Does it go very slow at night?

Look forward to reading your comments.

It's all to do with voltage drops, although I think our's is an optical fibre job. For some reason I remember our telephone service to be stupidly advanced for our location.

ADSL can be on the same copper wires that regular phone lines are on, unlike my cable which is an RF jobbie.. all it requires is for the hardware at both ends of the copper to be able to deal with it, and for the higher bandwidth on the copper to be sustainable over whatever distance it is back to BT.

I'm pretty sure they put another cable in for ADSL.

How does ADSL work??? Isn't it used on the same phone line that you've already got?? or is a new one put in??

But I doubt I'll get ADSL from Freeola just as I doubt I'll be able to afford it, but then again, never know.

I would go for the 0800 deal if that's set up. Are you planning both an AnyTime and Off-Peak pack?? As I'd probably go for the cheaper Off-Peak (the only reason I've got Freeserve Anytime is because they are giveing it to me for half price for 6 months, after that I'm cutting it off).

I think that given the value offered by Wires Only it might be the route we take. It's still in design stages though - nothing concrete.

I think YH, we have to agree. Personally I'm disgusted by Tony's behaviour RE RBS.

It'd have to be £14.99 / month or less to compete with the current unlimited services (the ones i've tried anyway), and at least *as* reliable (better would of course be nice :o) )
