My second's in awesome but not in great
My third is in mother but not seen in dad
My fourth is in sunny but never in sad
My fifth is a vowel found in water not creek
My sixth is found only in one day of the week
My seventh's two of three that you learn when you're young
My eighth's not in song but it's there when it's sung
My ninth's in eleven and twelve, not thirteen
My tenth is in island and river, not stream
My eleventh's in precious and secret and paste
My twelfth is in phantom and spectre and haste
My whole stalks the night in a quiet dreamlike state
With no memories the next day of being out late

does this mean the 2 main diagonals, or any diagonal, as if it's the latter, it's impossible.
I've got loads more if there is still the interest...

Nice simple one to start the day - colouring in!
Consider a grid of size 4 x 4 (i.e. sixteen squares), where all squares should get a color. The colored grid should meet the following conditions:
4 squares should be colored blue (B),
3 squares should be colored red (R),
3 squares should be colored white (W),
3 squares should be colored green (G),
3 squares should be colored yellow (Y)
No color appears more than once in any horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line.

Yeah, Ros did it
2, 2, and 9 I believe
on account of only two sets of 3 factors of 36 added to the same number (house number 13)
and the fact that there has to be a single eldest daughter
Blimey! This has got to be the most popular thread I've ever written on these forums!
Did anyone get the 3 daughters ages one I posted yesterday?

There was only one notable, and he was guilty.
Therefore anyone saying anyone else did it is a lying Newbie.
Therefore A is lying that C is guilty.
A cannot be notable because he claims that someone else is guilty
etc etc
Three people, A, B and C, (each one of whom is either a newbie or a Notable) are brought before a tribunal for a crime that was commited.
The court records have since been partially lost, and it is only known that A testified that C was the guilty one. The testimony of the other people is unavailable.
It is known that as the court found that only one of the people turned out to be a Notable, but that he was also the one guilty of the crime.
Who was it?
