Yep. My clever brother swapped our GC for a PS2 for a bit. Just to play on Vice City. While I dtest and desipise that over rated rubbish, I gave some of the other games a go. Namely Red Faction II, Medal Of Honour Frontline, LOTR: Two Towers and GT3. Personaly, they all sucked.

I was just wondering (this is for serious PS2 owners, not a bunch of monkeys) - What has the PS2 got coming that SERIOUSLY can compete with futre GC/XBox releases.

PS - I'm not being fanboyish, I'm just wondering.

Hang on.

A) I said the games I played were poor. That does not mean the PS2 is rubbish.
B) I did not mean to create any sort of controversy (despite previous jokes)
C) I said I detested GTA:VC, not the PS2.

I played on LOTR (again), Kessen and Onimusha: Warlords.

LOTR is getting better, but the only reason I keep playing is to beat the game. Its making me angry, not because its drawing me in.

Kessen seemed cool - In comparison to Shogun its nothing great, but I like the look of it, and Kessen 2 (if its not out...no idea you see) would/should be really good.

I was quite surprised with Onimusha. Turns out its Japanese Resident Evil, with samurais. Good, but I prefer the Resi series.

I blame it on the Nazis.

Also and a Game Console now being a fashion accessory instead of a console.

I just think that the relatively poor performance of the GC is in part attributable to lack of retail confidence.

No offence IB, but you do appear to be a staunch defender of the GC, visciously attacking anyone who says anything against it. Honestly I don't think it needs it - perhaps better marketing of the quality titles etc - but if I was held at gun-point and forced to buy a 2nd console I wouldn't buy an XBox....

I mean come on they guy says "If you want a list of all the PS2 games that are worth buying, I'll just name a few for you"

I interpreted it as the usual dross 'x is sucks, Y is great'. As I said, all I gave was my opinion...

Subjective, yes, but taking "I played these 4 games, and didn't like them" to mean "I think all PS2 games are crap" isn't subjective interpretation, it's just stupidity.


And you can't blame Mystique for saying all PS2 games are crap. She's not all there, you know...

OK - my mistake, it was Mystique who said that all PS2 games were Cr@p, but the fact remains that Cyclone made a judgement after playing a few PS2 games.

As for future PS2 titles I'm not gonna make one of those useless lists. I'm totally happy with my choice of comsole and I assume you are too. At least I don't go over to the Ninty forum and make similar sweeping judgements based on insufficient information and experience.

As for interpretation - it's always subjective.

No. YOU will find, if you read the original post properly, that at no point does he make some sweeping statement about all PS2 games being crap. He simply states that he has played a number of games and didn't like them. He then goes on to ask what games are forthcoming that rival the GC lineup.

You really should learn to read. Or at least how to interpret things correctly.
