I was walking through town, I could afford it, a shop which I shall refrain from naming had some in stock at the stupidly cheap price, and nobody would have a go at me for buying one.

Then I realised I'd never play on it and that I didn't actually want one that much.

Point out where I've mentioned either of the other two current generation consoles, and I'll give you a cookie. You seem to be ignoring the fact that this is the only console I'm even considering purchasing.

And I want convincing, because I keep thinking that I want things, buying them and never using them. Which is why I didn't buy one yesterday. I'm only after some guidance as to why I won't lose interest after a few days like er-no did with his Xbox.

And I wanted to see if you could argue the pro-points of your console without resorting to fanboy style means, which some of you have failed at. I'd start a thread like this in one of the other two brand forums, but I doubt it would even get this far without lists of 30 games that I HAVE TO OWN unless I'm gay and retarded.

If you really want something you shouldn't need convincing.

If you are persauded to buy something when you weren't really sure, you will only end up looking for every fault, however tiny, and as such won't enjoy it.

Well, PSO I don't want because I find online gaming annoying quite frankly, it's my whole antisocial side coming through only with the added bonus I can kill my own team when they annoy me. And Sonic, well, as I said, I have a Megadrive and I'm not sure whether I really want to spend £30 on some old games that I've completed several of.

The Gamecube is the best games console for gaming. What I mean by that is that its showing the rest what consoles are about, not playing DVD's and not boasting about having Halo 2 or GTA as exclusives.

Metroid, Super Monkey Ball 2 and even Mario. All those games are superbly fun to play. Just give it a go.

What about Sonic, PSO, and so on, you haven't told us why you don't want those.
