Personally, after only 2 hours of play, I've reached phenandra, with three energy tanks, and 20 missiles.

Wrong, they take three normal missiles, which is 2 less than a super missile. So therefore, you don't need 60.
And as I said before, if you check the suit stats, you'll see that there's an extra suit acvailable, I could have caled it the Metroid Suit and people would have believed me, how do they even know this suit is it's real name. Case, closed. I mentioned nothing about what it does, I don't know what it does. Case closed further

Power Beam - Super Missile
Wave Beam - Wavebuster
Ice Beam - Ice Spreader
Plasma Beam - Flamethrower
