Can anyone give me some info on the problems involved in converting between graphic formats i.e. bitmap(gif tif bmp pcx) and vector(cdr, eps, dxf)?
Any help would be much appreciated-thanks!

Yeah, supportion is a problem. If you put too many in a page then IE just coughs politely and directs you to the png homepage, making your site unviewable. Therefore, I only even use them for screenies, never umbed them and denote all PNG images with a [png] near them.

The final output doesn't but in Fireworks (who's native format is PNG) it does support the use of layers the same as a PSD does.

Same here, I just wish it was much more widely supported! ANd hopefully Adobe will stop Photoshop from flattening layered PNG's when you import them from Fireworks... Damn PS!! Arghhhh!!!

Best thing about PNG is that it is /lossless/.

That's it. No image quality sacrifice. For huge images the filesize can get a bit big but in general it's very impressive.

Happy birthday me, by the way.
