"Do you still play outside?"

Odd title, but I want to know.
Work is boring today, my boss is now off on holiday until next year so I have little to do.
So I'm sitting there asking what I can do for anyone, and the other 2 PAs shrug. So I offer a suggestion, "Let's go outside and have adventures!" (we have about 5 acres of grounds where I work with forest and lake and stuff).

Well, apart from accepting that going out and having adventures would be excellent, someone said that they don't let their kid outside much to play, in case he gets snatched.

Now when I were a lad, me and my mates used to play out as often as possible as long as we were back before dark.
We used to play war in the forest or play in the stream and along the riverbank etc.
Does this still happen? Or do kids just stay in and play video-games now?
Why do I see small groups of them standing around outside local shops/garages at night?
Do they not have homes they can go to? Someone's house they can congregate in and plan break-ins?

Has the younger generation of today lost interest in "playing outside"? I remember there used to be up to 20-30 kids with guns and knives playing in the woods, but I just don't see that anymore.

Is it me?

I don't go out too much at home, but in the summer at school, I'm always playing Manhunt, so I run around a lot at break time and lunch time. Whenever my cousins come round (they're coming round tomorrow), we always go over to my field and play Manhunt and Football. I want to excersise more and my mate has some weights, so we both might use them when we train for our Backyard Wrestling Federation. For anyone interested, here's my stats:

Height: 5ft 1
Weight: 5.5 stone (77 lbs)
Shoe Size: 4

I play outside a lot of the time, I tend to hang around childrens play parks, for some reason I keep having the Police called on me, I can't think why?

I'm 13 and I still play outside. I tend not to in winter, too cold, but during the summer I do. It's great fun :-)

We don't do much do we and grix... i hate shopping too i would only gladly go along if i was out with *wink a fit bird :D
I play computer games alot in the winter.. way to cold.
In the Summer i love to play football down the park till late!

Yea! Whats the point, of acting like a 40year old grumpy man when you are still in your Teens?! Me? Recently I have been acting rather... Strange. I have been hyper every day at school the weak :o) Never mind. Its fun.
