I have a stupid pet cat and she went out hunting as usual and brought in a pigeon! It was totally alive but it couldn't fly and has one mangled leg :S I tried to put it outside but the cat just went up to it again since it could move, I tried to put it on my bedroom window sill but it just rolled of and I had to quickly catch it!:S After that I held it in my hands with my hands wide open and it still wouldn't fly off after about 10 minutes. It just kept cawing and breathing heavily. I put it in an old cage with some bird seed and water for now but I'm not sure what to do. I can't keep it as it's a filthy dirty pigeon (female as it's light grey) and I'm not sure if a vet could do anything. All the vets will be closed by now anyway so even if it's the best idea I wont be able to get it there until tomorrow when it's dead:S Anyone with any ideas could you please reply.

That has got to be the worst idea since the Nazis "Final Solution"....Dear God child have some respect for life. It's not as if it's bleeding and stuff it's just got a couple of broken bones. They'll heal eventually.

Just put it in a plastic bag and whack it against a wall usually does the trick

I would just pull out a Butcher Knife and put it out of its misery, if you dont have the guts, tell your little sister that if she chopped its head off, you would buy her a new Barbie Doll.

And when she does do it chop the Barbies head off too.......HeHeHe.

I would but we have only one line of trees at the back of our house, there are about 4 cats on my street alone, and that one line of trees is hard to get to by me as I'd need a huge ladder but easily accessible to cats as there is a fence up to the roof of my shed which is right next to the first tree in the line of about 10. I'll think about it though just it's gonna be hard to keep the cats away:S

That's what your parents told you...

The truth is that 10 minutes after they put the bird into the tree it rolled over in it's box, fell out and was eaten by the gathering of cats underneath.

Sorry I had to break it to you this way...

We had a pigeon fly into our window once and damage its wing. We put it in a box, high up in a tree so any cats would have a hard time reaching it. We left some water in there as well.

The next morning we phoned the RSPCA, but the bird had already regained its strength and flown off.

Why not try that?
