Well, I haven't heard ANYTHING OF THIS! There were

That's pants! My DC reboots a hell of a lot just like my Pc. But that doesn't make it like a pc does it? The DC is still the best consol on the market... well untill the Xbox (March 14th).

It is a console

Yet the PC games market suffers from competition from the PS2 and GC!
:)
It is a console

YES IT IS!

Indeed the second crop were amazing...
Soul Calibur, Jet Set, Resident Evil:code Veronica, Shenmue, MSR, Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi... etc.
Point is that the games were amazing, and to say, as you did, that a big reason for not buying the console was due to the OS was completely stupid... only now do you talk about the games!

But this is TOTALLY different to the ones used on consoles that DON'T crash... did you ever see the PSX/DC/N64 OS crash partway through a game???
I don't

errrr... I have owned a DC for ages, and have heard only a couple of incidents of this... all from PSX gamers who just like the dis other consoles!
The rebooting problem is one that I

Becuase it's been hyped. In fact, I bet you've heard very little about EVERY demo PS2 crashing at E3... just go to the "Xbox xrashed at E3" topic, and go back a way, and look for my LOOONNNNNGGGGGG post on the issue... I think you'll find that the PS2 had a FAR worse record than any other console... but guess what? No one made an issue out of it!

1) I couldn't afford a Dreamcast at the time anyway, what with buying a house. I was going to wait a little while 'cos I thought the first crop of games would be crap but the 2nd crop better.

I don't know if the rebooting dreamcasts has anything to do with the OS, but it just seems funny that the DC is the only console I have heard of that reboot itself, in the way that I would expect a PC to.
The rebooting problem is one that I have heard of from many different sources, so how can it be an isolated issue?
Hmmm, yeah, I didn't know the
> PSX was built on PC architecture, could you give examples?
*All the data buses
*Transfer of data between components
*Separation of jobs (so a specialised sound card insetad of the processor doing everything a la N64)
*3d graphics card architecture
So, basically, everything that attracted developers to the PSX!
As for the

Funny that the DC had many reports of "rebooting" all on it's

Well, I haven't heard ANYTHING OF THIS! There were some cases of the very first Japanese DCs having some problem (just as every modern console has!), but seeing as many of my friends and myself own, or have owned DCs, from near and abroad, and also read a lots about the subject online, I can safely say that this story is being completely over exagerated. (Long sentence!)
If you didn't buy a DC because of this it shows 2 things:
1) Arrogance to the actual quality of gaming on the Dreamcast.
2) That you are easy to bias by producing rubbish like this OS problem!
Sonic
