It's hard to manufacture a group of friends who've known each other for most of their lives and have been in a band together for several years now!! The only exception is Chester Bennington, who came along to complete the jigsaw puzzle as they changed their name from Xero to Hybrid Theory. Then when they discoverd there already was a band called Hybrid Theory, they changed to Linkin Park signed up with (in my opinion) a bad choice in a record label. They could become a much heavier band, but the contract they've signed with WBA (not West Brom!!) only allows them to create certain styles of music. Yes they write everything, music and lyrics as they're no some weak pop group who need a manager while the group learns to dance with random people!!
I also hate Slipknot!!! And I think Blink 182 are gay!!! Especially after they run around naked with each other and they sound really annoying!! And how can 9 men in masks be ONE band??? That includes 4 drummers!!!!
And I think Blink 182 are gay!!!
dont you think its a bit hypacritical having a hissy fit when people say the boyband (er sorry) group you like, suck and then go doing exactly the same with other peoples fav groups
shaaaaame on you
i wave my finger at you
And yeah, your 'defending' Linkin Park by saying they could be better but their record label won't let them be any heavier. In my opinion that makes them worse. Greenday are labelled sellouts, but they have never given in to record label pressure (say what you will about 'Warning' but it was natural progression of the band), and this band, if what you said in your 'defense' of them is true, are real sell outs. Why sign up with a big record label if they won't let you make the music you want to make?
They're just another conveyor belt, manufactured band signed up to take advantage of Limp Bizcut's success. Doesn't make a bit of difference if they've known each other all their lives or not - if they let their record company dictate to them their musical style then they're manufactured.
They're also one of the dullest bands I've ever had the displeasure to hear. Feel free to dismiss me as someone who's never heard the band - but I still claim to be the first N.I. DJ to play them (to an audience of about 20 people :/)long beofre most people over here had a clue who they were. Pitty they couldn't follow up the strong first single with anything remotely creditable.
They started out with 5 members (probably ONLY 2 drummers) and as they

Actually their first album was called, Feed. Mate. Kill. Repeat.
Hybrid Theory is an amazing album!! And if anyone's a manufactured boy band, it's Sipknot!! They started out with 5 members (probably ONLY 2 drummers) and as they released their debut album, titled Slipknot, there were all of a sudden 9 MEMBERS!!!!! And the clown bloke is useless, cuz all he does is roll/'dance' around on stage, with no musical talent!!!!
Oh, but in my opinion Linkin Park are not a great band, and seem to be (although it's far too early to tell definitively) just jumping on the recent 'nu-metal' bandwagon.
So there.
