As a first-time Nintendo owner, maybe someone can explain the history of this title to me; why is it seen as such a major title, and why are people dashing out to buy Gamecube's to play it?
Don't get me wrong! It *is* a very good game, and I am enjoying playing it, but while it's fun, for me there's certainly nothing particularly outstanding about it.
By that I mean it is definitely a game worth owning, but - and remember, this is just my opinion - it's not a game worth specifically buying a 'cube to play.
For me, there are already better games on Gamecube that people *didn't* rush out and buy the machine to play.
Example:- say youve been playing the game for lets say 6 hours and your about to go and face the boss of phendrana drifts, it takes you 15 mins to get to the boss and you fight it for about 15 mins and you die, so all in all thats an extra half an hours playtime, BUT it then says Do you want to continue from last save? so basically your starting from before you faced the boss and so that half an hour of play does'nt count, so now think hard and can you truthfully say that youve never died whilst playing it?... did'nt think so, so as you see the clock it would seem is accurate. :)

Hear me roar.
I consider it a complete classic, why? Because Super Metroid on the SNES was the best game ever until SoA, and even now it's my second favourite game of all time. Now I'm playing Super Metroid in 3D, games just don't get any better.
The wavebuster is pretty good for just taking out your aggression with the stupid reswapwning enemies as well, although it uses up far too many missiles to actually be of any value in a large firefight.

You're correct... but surely now they're 'current generation'? ;-p

Good grief, you really know how to make someone feel old! :-( I think I'll just put on my chunky-knit cardigan and go sit in the rocker in the corner...
One neat touch that I really *do* like is that, in certain lighting conditions (in the game, not in the actual room...) you can see 'your' eyes reflected in the visor.
Actually creeped me out first time it happened!
If so, put the Visor Opacity right down, then you'll see how immersive Prime can be, it really feels a lot more like you're inside a helmet, looking out.
I think thats off target somewhere.

I thought that too, i've had the game since release day and apparently have only been playing it for 12 hours and i've recently got the power bomb things.
Okay i've been playing the game off an on because i've been busy but I still can't see that i've only played it for 12 hours.
Pfff.
RBS. Pfff.
What I'm saying is people haven't seen as much as you in the way of games and this is very new and very exciting to them.
Or it could just be that it's not *your* kind of game. Certainly isn't mine and that's why I haven't bought/claimed it.
