Hi,
It seems form_to_mail scripts have stopped working today.

Initially I thought it was due to the php upgrades as one of my sites uses a third-party php script (see my post in the php thread) but this is on server 2 which shouldn't be affected.

I've found that form_to_mail scripts both third-party and Freeola's own one have stopped working.

No errors but also no email :(

NB. As this has been going on for some hours I have just raised a Support Ticket: 135234
When I raised the ticket the confirmation page had a blank space where the ticket number should be:

Your support ticket reference:
Thank you for your enquiry, a copy of which we have emailed to . Please keep a note of your support ticket reference, as this will help if you need to contact us again regarding the same matter. We will reply to your message as soon as we can.

The email confirmation did contain the number as normal.

Could you please investigate.
Thanks.

So is it third party scripts that is causing all the problems?

We have had yet another case of porn slip through the system. I thought that since the repair last time and upgrade to PHP5 that your servers would have been more secure?

We are using the script that you supply, so if its third party scripts that are the weak link why are you allowing their use?

Why should 3rd party scripts be allowed to weaken your security and cause all these problems??

A fair amount of customers make use of these third party scripts, especially as our script will not allow you to send to a non freeola email address.

The main changes we made with security are to prevent customers from interfering with each others web folders either deliberately or by mistake. They are also so that we can now identify whose scripts are causing issues and remedy the problem.

That is why we were able to resolve the recent issue relatively quickly.

While there is a case to be made to prevent third party scripts from accessing email, we do not at present want to go that route.
